Abstract

ABSTRACT The quality of students‘ listening skills remains low, evidenced by scores below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) of 78, achieved by 61% of the eleventh-grade students. Furthermore, students face difficulties in comprehending English and lack vocabulary practice, along with limited availability of teaching media. The Listen-English Daily Practice application was chosen as a learning medium because it offers easily accessible listening exercises with various audio materials, levels, and accents (American and British), designed to help students adapt to different communication contexts. This study employed a quantitative pre-experimental design using a pre-test and post-test. The pre test was given before the treatment was given. After the treatment was completed, the researcher gave a post-test to the students. Finally, the pre-test and post-test scores were compared to find the answer to the research question. The population of this study was eleventh grade students of MAN 1 North Lampung. The population consisted of eight classes (MIA 1 to IIS 4) with the total of 276 students. The research sample consisted of 36 students from class XI IIS 2 at MAN 1 North Lampung, selected through a purposive sampling technique due to their low listening ability tests (pre-test and post-test) consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions. From the results of data analysis, independent sample t-test on SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) show that the resulting significant value is Asymp. Sig. (one-side p & two-side p) was 0.001 <  = 0.05. based on the results, it was concluded that there was a significant effect of using the Listen English application on students‘ listening skill in class XI students of MAN 1 North Lampung. Students reported increased interest in listening activities, as the application‘s interactive features created an engaging and enjoyable learning atmosphere.
