Abstract

ABSTRAK Masa remaja merupakan periode transisi dari masa kanakkanak menuju kedewasaan yang ditandai dengan berbagai perubahan fisik, psikologis, dan sosial. Perubahan tersebut sering memengaruhi kemampuan remaja dalam menilai dan menerima diri sehingga menimbulkan keraguan, rasa tidak aman, serta kesulitan dalam berinteraksi sosial. Rendahnya kepercayaan diri peserta didik di lingkungan sekolah tampak dari perilaku pasif, kurang berani berbicara, sulit menerima kritik, dan memiliki penilaian negatif terhadap diri sendiri. Berdasarkan hasil prapenelitian di SMA Negeri 1 Kibang Lampung Timur, ditemukan lima peserta didik kelas XI F2 yang menunjukkan tingkat kepercayaan diri rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konseling kelompok dengan teknik role playing dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimental one group pretestposttest. Subjek penelitian berjumlah lima peserta didik yang dipilih berdasarkan hasil observasi dan skala kepercayaan diri. Instrumen penelitian berupa skala kepercayaan diri yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon untuk mengetahui perbedaan skor kepercayaan diri sebelum dan sesudah diberikan layanan konseling kelompok dengan teknik role playing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor kepercayaan diri peserta didik pada pretest berada pada kategori rendah dengan nilai 47,4, sedangkan pada posttest meningkat menjadi 113 dan berada pada kategori tinggi. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan nilai Z = –2,032 dengan Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 < 0,05, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara skor pretest dan posttest. ABSTRACT Adolescence is a transitional period from childhood to adulthood characterized by various physical, psychological, and social changes. These changes often affect adolescents’ ability to evaluate and accept themselves, leading to self-doubt, feelings of insecurity, and difficulties in social interaction. Low self-confidence among students in the school environment is reflected in passive behavior, lack of courage to speak, difficulty accepting criticism, and negative self-perceptions. Based on a preliminary study conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Kibang, East Lampung, five students of class XI F2 were identified as having low levels of self-confidence. This study aims to examine the effect of group counseling using the role-playing technique on improving students’ self-confidence. This study employed a quantitative method with a preexperimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The research subjects consisted of five students selected based on the results of observations and self-confidence questionnaires. The research instrument was a self-confidence questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test to determine differences in self-confidence scores before and after the implementation of group counseling with the role-playing technique. The results showed that the average self-confidence score in the pretest was in the low category with a score of 47.4, while the posttest average increased to 113, which was classified as high. The Wilcoxon test results indicated a Z value of –2.032 with an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. Therefore, it can be concluded that group counseling using the role-playing technique has a significant effect on improving students’ self-confidence at SMA Negeri 1 Kibang, East Lampung.
