Abstract

ABSTRACT THE INFLUENCE OF USING ORAL PRESENTATION TOWARDS STUDENTS SPEAKING ABILITY AT SMA N 1 PENENGAHAN By:NINDITA MULYANINGRUM This research is conducted based on the preliminary research that are students still have difficulties in speaking ability when they speak in the current learning process. The objective of this research is to know the influence of using Oral Presentation on the students speaking ability of the Tenth grade students at SMAN 1 Penengahan in academic year of 2025/2026. This study aimed to analyze students' speaking skills, focusing on all aspects of assessment: pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, and fluency. The data were statistically analyzed to determine the significance of the findings. The results showed significant improvement in vocabulary, which contributed significantly to overall speaking ability. This research used two classes, the first class as the experimental class and the second class as the control class. The population of this research was the tenth grade of SMA N I Penengahan. The total sample was 70 students who were taken from two classes, X.1 and X.5. The quantitative research method was used in Quasi Experimental research design to conducted this research, the researcher used pre and post test to collect the data by used a direct test that to measure five speaking criteria. Based on the analysis on the data and the testing of hypothesis, the researcher found the result that was Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 and a = 0.05 where if Sig. (2-tailed) <a = 0.05 its mean that Ha was accepted. So, there was a significant influence in Oral Presentation on the students' speaking ability at the first semester of the tenth grade of SMAN 1 Penengahan in academic year of 2025/2026.
