Abstract
ABSTRACT The development of financial technology has driven the increasing use of paylater services among students, influenced by the beauty trend, hedonic lifestyle, and social class differences. This condition has given rise to a tendency to go into debt, potentially contradicting the principle of prudence in financial management, particularly from an Islamic business perspective. This study aims to analyze the influence of beauty trends, hedonic lifestyle, and social class on the tendency to go into debt in the use of paylater marketplaces among students of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, UIN Raden Intan Lampung. The research method used a quantitative approach with data collection techniques through questionnaires and analyzed using statistical analysis. The results show that the beauty trend has no effect on the tendency to go into debt, while the hedonic lifestyle and social class have a significant influence on the tendency to go into debt. In conclusion, consumptive behavior driven by trends and lifestyle needs to be controlled to align with the principles of justice, balance, and welfare in Islamic business.
