Abstract
Abstract This study investigates the influence of work-life balance and organizational culture on employee engagement within an Islamic business perspective at J&T Express Way Kandis. Using quantitative methodology with explanatory research design, data were collected from 75 employees through structured questionnaires employing 5-point Likert scales. The research framework integrates Islamic values such as tawazun (balance), akhlakul karimah (noble character), and maslahah (public interest) in analyzing human resource management practices. Multiple linear regression analysis reveals that work-life balance significantly influences employee engagement (t = 4.736, p < 0.05), demonstrating how the Islamic principle of tawazun enables employees to harmonize professional responsibilities with religious obligations and family commitments. Similarly, organizational culture based on Islamic values including shiddiq (honesty), amanah (trustworthiness), tabligh (effective communication), and fathonah (wisdom) significantly affects employee engagement (t = 4.623, p < 0.05). The simultaneous effect of both variables explains 61.8% of employee engagement variance (F = 58.347, p < 0.05), indicating that2 Islamic-based management practices create holistic workplace ecosystems. The findings suggest that implementing Islamic business principles not only fulfills spiritual needs but also enhances organizational performance through increased employee commitment, reduced turnover, and improved service quality in the logistics industry.
