Abstract

ABSTRACT Reading has been one of the issues that need to be solved in English teaching and learning process. In teaching and learning process, both students and teachers must use various efforts to learn and improve their reading ability. That there are still many teachers who prefer not to teach reding in a various way to the students. The objective of the research was to find out the correlation student’s learnng styles and their reading comprehension ability at the first semester of seventh grade students of SMPN 5 Bandar Lampung in the academic year of 2023/2024. The research was conducted at SMPN 5 Bandar Lampung involving the students of VII 3 as the participants consisted of 30 students which was selected through the cluster random sampling method. In this research study, causal comparative research design was applied. The basic causal comparative is retrospective causal, which starting with effect and investigating causes. were conducted as the data collecting technique. From the result of the data analysis, it could be concluded that Say-It Application gave influence to the students’ pronunciation mastery. It could be seen from the result of the pre-test before the treatment was given and the result of the post-test after the treatment was given. In addition, the result of the t-test between the pre-test and the post-test also suggested that this application gave a significant difference towards the students’ pronunciation mastery before and after the treatment was given. Overall, it could finally be concluded that Say It Application gave influence towards the students of eleventh grade of SMPN 5 Bandar Lampung. Key words: Learning Styles, Reading Comprehension
