Abstract

BSTRAK Analisis Fenomenologi Flow Akademik Pada Siswa Olimpiade Matematika Oleh: Husnil Khotimah Keikutsertaan dalam olimpiade matematika tidak hanya menjadi ajang untuk menunjukkan kecakapan intelektual, tetapi juga merupakan suatu kebanggaan tersendiri bagi siswa yang terlibat. Namun, realitas di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa memenangkan kompetisi semacam ini bukanlah hal yang mudah. Siswa tidak hanya dituntut untuk bersaing secara ketat dengan peserta dari berbagai daerah, tetapi juga harus tetap mempertahankan performa akademik mereka di sekolah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengalaman siswa dalam mengalami flow akademik serta mengidentifikasi strategi yang mereka terapkan dalam mempertahankan kondisi flow selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode kualitatif pendekatan fenomenologi dengan jumlah informan sebanyak tiga orang yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data menggunakan metode Descriptive Phenomenological Analysis (DPA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek memiliki tingkat flow akademik yang cenderung tinggi, meskipun terkadang subjek merasakan adanya dinamika emosional yang cukup kompleks dan tak jarang mendapatkan distraksi dari lingkungan di sekitarnya. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut subjek melakukan berbagai macam strategi seperti istirahat sejenak, menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif, manajemen waktu yang baik, bahkan self talk. Secara garis besar, studi ini membahas tentang pengalaman flow yang dirasakan oleh para subjek serta bagaimana subjek mengatasi distraksi tersebut. Kata kunci: Belajar, Flow Akademik, Matematika, Olimpiade, Siswa.ABSTRACT Phenomenological Analysis of Academic Flow in Math Olympiad Students By: Husnil Khotimah Participation in mathematics competitions is not only an opportunity to demonstrate intellectual ability, but also a source of pride for the students involved. However, the reality on the ground shows that winning such competitions is not easy. Students are not only required to compete fiercely with participants from various regions, but also to maintain their academic performance at school. The purpose of this study is to analyze students' experiences in experiencing academic flow and to identify the strategies they apply in maintaining flow conditions during the learning process. The research was conducted using a qualitative phenomenological approach with three informants selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted using the Descriptive Phenomenological Analysis (DPA) method. The results of the study indicate that the subjects have a relatively high level of academic flow, although they occasionally experience complex emotional dynamics and are often distracted by their surroundings. To address this, the subjects employed various strategies such as taking a short break, creating a conducive learning environment, effective time management, and even self-talk. In general, this study discusses the flow experiences felt by the subjects and how they cope with such distractions. Key Words: Learning, Academic Flow, Mathematics, Olympiad, Students.
