Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami persepsi dan pemahaman mahasiswa calon guru biologi terhadap tujuan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) di kalangan mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Intan Lampung. Fokus penelitian ini adalah melihat sejauh mana mahasiswa memahami peran SDGs, khususnya dalam konteks pendidikan berkualitas dan pelestarian lingkungan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2024 dan melibatkan mahasiswa yang telah melaksanakan Praktek Pengalaman Lapangan (PPL). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, yang memberikan gambaran sistematis, faktual, dan akurat mengenai fenomena yang diteliti. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi kuesioner, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sampel terdiri dari 114 mahasiswa semester 7 Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi yang dipilih secara purposive. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif untuk menggambarkan persepsi mahasiswa terhadap SDGs secara mendalam.Hasil penelitian bahwa mahasiswa calon guru biologi memiliki pemahaman yang baik terhadap sustainable development goals (SDGs) yang ditunjukkan dengan 46% mahasiswa sangat setuju dengan adanya pendidikan berkualitas dan 45% menyatakan setuju. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas mahasiswa telah memahami pentingnya kualitas pendidikan untuk mendukung keberlanjutan dan perkembangan masyarakat secara menyeluruh. Sedangkan pada indikator lingkungan juga menunjukkan hal yang sama yaitu pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap sustainable development goals (SDGs) tergolong baik yang ditunjukkan dengan 49% mahasiswa sangat setuju dan 36% mahasiswa setuju dengan adanya pelestarian pelestarian lingkungan sebagai bagian dari tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan. Rekomendasi penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya integrasi nilai-nilai SDGs dalam kurikulum pendidikan untuk mempersiapkan calon guru yang mampu mengajarkan keberlanjutan kepada siswa. ABSTARC This study aims to understand the perceptions and comprehension of biology teacher candidates regarding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among students in the Biology Education Program at Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Intan Lampung. The focus of this research is to examine the extent to which students understand the role of the SDGs, particularly in the context of quality education and environmental preservation.The research was conducted from May 2024 and involved students who had completed Field Practice Experience (PPL). The research method used is a descriptive approach with a qualitative method, which provides a systematic, factual, and accurate depiction of the phenomena studied. Data collection techniques included questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The sample consisted of 114 seventh-semester students from the Biology Education Program, selected purposively. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics to portray students' perceptions of the SDGs in depth.The results of the study showed that prospective biology teacher students have a good understanding of sustainable development goals (SDGs) as indicated by 46% of students strongly agreeing with the existence of quality education and 45% agreeing. This indicates that the majority of students have understood the importance of quality education to support sustainability and the development of society as a whole. Meanwhile, the environmental indicator also shows the same thing, namely that students' understanding of sustainable development goals (SDGs) is classified as good as indicated by 49% of students strongly agreeing and 36% of students agreeing with the existence of environmental preservation as part of the sustainable development goals. This research recommendation emphasizes the importance of integrating SDGs values in the education curriculum to prepare prospective teachers who are able to teach sustainability to students.
