Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini berfokus pada strategi pemberdayaan Masjid Agung Nurul Amal Jati Agung, Lampung Selatan sebagai pusat pendidikan agama. Masjid, selain berfungsi sebagai tempat ibadah, juga memiliki peran penting dalam mendidik umat, terutama dalam menghadapi tantangan modernitas yang semakin kompleks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji strategi pemberdayaan masjid melalui program program pendidikan agama yang telah diimplementasikan serta mengevaluasi dampaknya terhadap pemahaman dan pengamalan agama di kalangan masyarakat sekitar. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif, studi kasus ini mengeksplorasi berbagai aspek, seperti perencanaan program, metode pembelajaran, dan peran takmir masjid serta partisipasi masyarakat dalam mendukung upaya pemberdayaan. Program-program seperti tahsin, tahfidz Al-Qur'an, kajian fiqh, dan pembinaan remaja menjadi bagian dari revitalisasi fungsi masjid sebagai pusat pendidikan yang relevan dengan kebutuhan kontemporer. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberdayaan masjid tidak hanya memperkuat aspek spiritual masyarakat, tetapi juga berdampak pada pembentukan karakter dan moral, khususnya di kalangan generasi muda. Kesimpulannya, Masjid Agung Nurul Amal berperan signifikan dalam membangun pendidikan agama yang komprehensif di wilayah sub-urban Lampung Selatan. Kata kunci: Pemberdayaan Masjid, Pendidikan Agama, Masyarakat. ii ABSTRACT This research focuses on the empowerment strategy of the Nurul Amal Grand Mosque in Jati Agung, South Lampung, as a center for religious education. Mosques, in addition to serving as places of worship, also play a crucial role in educating the community, particularly in facing the increasingly complex challenges of modernity. This research aims to examine the mosque's empowerment strategy through implemented religious education programs and evaluate their impact on religious understanding and practice among the surrounding community. Using a qualitative approach, this case study explores various aspects, such as program planning, learning methods, the role of the mosque's administrators, and community participation in supporting empowerment efforts. Programs such as tahsin (religious study), Quran memorization (tahfidz), fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) studies, and youth development are part of the mosque's revitalization as an educational center relevant to contemporary needs. The results of this study indicate that mosque empowerment not only strengthens the community's spiritual aspects but also impacts character and moral development, particularly among the younger generation. In conclusion, the Nurul Amal Grand Mosque plays a significant role in establishing comprehensive religious education in the suburban areas of South Lampung.
