Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to analyze the influence of interest rates and rupiah exchange rates on foreign exchange reserves from an Islamic economic perspective in Indonesia for the period 2014-2023. This research uses a quantitative approach with time series data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency of Indonesia. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression with the help of EViews 10 software. The study population consists of 10 years of data (2014-2023) using saturated sampling technique. The results show that interest rates have a significant negative effect on foreign exchange reserves with a coefficient of -5789.562 and t-statistic of -4.25, while the rupiah exchange rate has a significant positive effect on foreign exchange reserves with a coefficient of 0.182938 and t-statistic of 4.61. Simultaneously, interest rates and rupiah exchange rates significantly affect foreign exchange reserves with F-statistic of 21.10 and Rsquared of 0.857734 (85.77%). From an Islamic economic perspective, foreign exchange reserve management should be based on the principle of prudence (ihtiyath) and for the benefit of the ummah, not merely for state wealth accumulation. The management must avoid riba-based instruments and prioritize distributive justice and long-term economic stability as a form of accountability to Allah SWT. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh suku bunga dan nilai tukar rupiah terhadap cadangan devisa dalam perspektif ekonomi Islam di Indonesia tahun 2014-2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan data time series yang diperoleh dari Badan Pusat Statistik Indonesia. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah regresi linier berganda dengan bantuan software EViews 10. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari data 10 tahun (2014-2023) dengan menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suku bunga berpengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap cadangan devisa dengan koefisien -5789.562 dan t-statistik - 4.25, sedangkan nilai tukar rupiah berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap cadangan devisa dengan koefisien 0.182938 dan t-statistik 4.61. Secara simultan, suku bunga dan nilai tukar rupiah berpengaruh signifikan terhadap cadangan devisa dengan F-statistik 21.10 dan Rsquared 0.857734 (85,77%). Dari perspektif ekonomi Islam, pengelolaan cadangan devisa harus didasarkan pada prinsip kehatihatian (ihtiyath) dan untuk kemaslahatan umat, bukan semata-mata untuk akumulasi kekayaan negara. Pengelolaan tersebut harus menghindari instrumen berbasis riba dan mengutamakan keadilan distributif serta stabilitas ekonomi jangka panjang sebagai bentuk pertanggungjawaban kepada Allah SWT.
