Abstract

ABSTRAK Perpustakaan perguruan tinggi berperan penting dalam mendukung aktivitas akademik mahasiswa. Namun, pemanfaatan perpustakaan UIN Raden Intan Lampung belum optimal karena dipengaruhi keragaman karakter pemustaka. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui karakteristik pemustaka serta hubungannya dengan asal program studi. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan sampel 214 mahasiswa S1, dipilih melalui purposive dan snowball sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, kuesioner, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis dengan uji validitas, reliabilitas, perhitungan rata-rata, serta analisis biplot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemustaka memiliki keragaman karakter, seperti pendiam, banyak bicara, tidak sabar, hingga siap mental, dan terdapat kecenderungan yang berbeda antar program studi. Analisis biplot memperlihatkan karakter dominan, misalnya mahasiswa Perbankan Syariah cenderung banyak bicara dan aktif berinteraksi. Dengan demikian, karakteristik pemustaka di perpustakaan UIN Raden Intan Lampung beragam dan dipengaruhi melalui asal program studi. Kata Kunci: Karakteristik pemustaka, Analisis Biplot, Pemanfaatan Perpustakaan. ii ABSTRACT University libraries play a crucial role in supporting students' academic activities. However, library utilization at UIN Raden Intan Lampung is not optimal due to the diversity of user characteristics. This study aims to determine the characteristics of user characteristics and their relationship to their study program. The study used a descriptive quantitative approach, with a sample of 214 undergraduate students selected through purposive and snowball sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data were then analyzed using validity and reliability tests, mean calculations, and biplot analysis. The results show that user characteristics vary, from quiet, talkative, impatient, to mentally prepared, with differences across study programs. The biplot analysis revealed dominant characteristics; for example, Sharia Banking students tend to be talkative and actively interact. Thus, the characteristics of user characteristics at the UIN Raden Intan Lampung library are diverse and influenced by their study program.
