Abstract
ABSTRACT Cultivation of Chinese cabbage (Brassica juncea L.) often experiences decreased productivity, characterized by yellowing leaves. One sustainable solution to address this problem is the use of organic waste such as coffee grounds as fertilizer. This study aimed to determine the effect of coffee grounds fertilizer on Chinese cabbage growth and determine the optimal dosage. The study was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five dosages: P0 (0%), P1 (25%), P2 (35%), P3 (45%), and P4 (55%), each replicated five times. The fertilizer was made by fermenting coffee grounds with EM4. Observed parameters included plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight, pH, and temperature. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan's test (α = 5%). The results showed that coffee grounds fertilizer significantly affected all parameters. A dosage of 25% (P1) produced the highest number of leaves and fresh weight, while higher dosages decreased effectiveness. In conclusion, coffee grounds fertilizer effectively increases Chinese cabbage growth, with the optimal dosage of 25% for maximum yield and support for sustainable agriculture. Keywords: Coffee Grounds Waste, Caisim Plants, EM4, Plant Growth, Organic Fertilizer.
