Abstract
ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the fact that stock price fluctuations can lead to a loss of investor confidence in companies. Stock price fluctuations are also influenced by macroeconomic variables, including inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, and global oil prices. However, a literature review of macroeconomic variables and stock price indices reveals differing views and findings among researchers regarding the relationship between the variables studied. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effect of macroeconomic variables (inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, and global oil prices) on the Islamic stock price index in the Southeast Asian region, from January 2020 to December 2024, covering Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines. This study employed a quantitative approach using panel data. Purposive sampling was used to determine the sample size, with a total of 300 observations. This study used multiple linear regression analysis with the aid of Eviews 10 as a statistical tool. The results show that inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, and global oil prices simultaneously influence the Islamic stock price index. From an Islamic economic perspective, the Islamic stock price index is viewed as an instrument that supports real activity, justice, and sustainability. Therefore, variables directly related to the real sector (such as the exchange rate and global oil prices) have a greater influence on the Islamic stock price index than interest-based or inflation-based variables. Keywords: Islamic Stock Prices, Inflation, Interest Rates, Exchange Rates, Global Oil Prices.
