Abstract

ABSTRACT Listening is a fundamental skill in language acquisition and communication, yet it is often considered one of the most challenging aspects of learning, particularly in a second or foreign language. Preliminary research showed that teachers faced obstacles such as poor classroom conditions, varying student abilities, and students' limited vocabulary. This research aims to know whether there is significant influence of using the AIR learning model towards students' listening skills of 8th grade students of Al-Huda Junior High School. This research is a type of Quasi Experimental research with Nonequivalent Control Group design. The populations in this study were 8th grade students of Al-Huda junior high school, with a sample of 2 classes, namely 1 experiment class (8 thariq) and 1 control class (usamah). The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling. The instruments used to collect data were multiple choice questions pre test and post-test. Based on the result of the research, showed that the AIR learning model had a significant influence on improving the listening skills of the 8th grade students of Al-Huda Junior High School in the 2024/2025 academic year. Which showed a significance value (2 tailed) of 0.018, it was lower than < α = 0.05, and it means (H0) was rejected and (Ha) was accepted. These data indicated a meaningful difference between the groups, suggesting that the AIR learning model made a significant impact on students’ listening performance.
