Abstract
ABSTARCT Waste is material or product that remains after an activity or production process and no longer has its original function. Cabbage waste and coffee grounds are examples of waste. To reduce waste problems, one method that the people can apply is managing organic waste into organic fertilizer through composting. The purpose of this research is to identify the effect of organic fertilizer made from cabbage waste and coffee grounds on the growth of pakcoy plants and to analyze the most effective treatment for pakcoy growth. This research used a RAL (Simple Random Sampling) method with a quantitative approach and employed a one-way ANOVA hypothesis test. The organic fertilizer was produced by composting cabbage waste (15 kg), robusta coffee grounds (9 kg), and rice bran (6 kg) using an aerobic composting method. The treatment doses used were: (P1) 1 kg compost : 2 kg soil, (P2) 1.5 kg compost : 1.5 kg soil, (P3) 2 kg compost : 1 kg soil, and (P0) soil only. The parameters measured in this study included plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, leaf height, fresh plant weight, dry plant weight, fresh root weight, and dry root weight. The results of the study, analyzed using ANOVA, showed a significance value of <0.05, indicating that the treatments significantly affected the growth of pakcoy plants (Brassica rapa L.). The most suitable composition was P1 (1 kg organic fertilizer : 2 kg soil). The research data demonstrated that this composition outperformed other compositions across all measured parameters. Key word : Cabbage waste, coffee grounds, organic fertilizer, pakcoy plants (Brassica rapa L.), composting.
