Abstract

ABSTRACT Elections are the pillars of democracy that must be conducted honestly and fairly. However, the 2024 elections are tainted by allegations of fraud and bias. Criticism of this condition has emerged through the documentary video Dirty Vote. This video has sparked a public debate between political education and propaganda. This phenomenon is interesting to study through framing in mass communication. In the realm of mass communication, this phenomenon becomes relevant to be analyzed through the framing perspective to understand how the media shapes public perception of political issues and democracy. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with Robert Entman's framing analysis. The analysis includes four elements: defining problems, diagnosing causes, making moral judgments, and suggesting remedies. Data was collected from video observations of Dirty Vote and related podcasts. Visual and verbal narratives were analyzed in depth. The research results show that the video Dirty Vote (PSHK Indonesia, YouTube, February 11, 2024) frames the 2024 election as a manipulative process. Scene 2 (04:06–25:32) displays the bias of officials, such as Iriana Jokowi raising two fingers and pressure on the sub-district head. Scene 3 (35:19–40:16) highlights the abuse of social assistance and the President's lack of neutrality. Scene 4 (50:36–58:51) shows the weakness of the Election Supervisory Board against officials campaigning. Scene 5 (1:03:49–1:32:10) criticizes the intervention of the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court. Elements of Entman's framing are applied: problem (04:06–08:14), cause (35:19–38:05), moral judgment (50:36–58:51), and solution (1:32:11–1:40:00). This research contributes to the study of political communication by showing the influence of digital media framing on public perceptions of democracy. Namun, Pemilu 2024 diwarnai dugaan kecurangan dan keberpihakan. Kritik terhadap kondisi ini muncul lewat video dokumenter Dirty Vote. Video ini memicu perdebatan publik antara edukasi politik dan propaganda. Fenomena ini menarik dikaji melalui framing dalam komunikasi massa. Dalam ranah komunikasi massa, fenomena ini menjadi relevan untuk dianalisis melalui perspektif framing guna mengetahui bagaimana media membentuk persepsi publik terhadap isu politik dan demokrasi. Penelitian ini memakai metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan analisis framing Robert Entman. Analisis mencakup empat elemen: define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgments, dan suggest remedies. Data dikumpulkan dari observasi video Dirty Vote dan podcast terkait. Narasi visual dan verbal dianalisis secara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan video Dirty Vote (PSHK Indonesia, YouTube, 11 Februari 2024) membingkai Pemilu 2024 sebagai proses manipulatif. Scene 2 (04:06–25:32) menampilkan keberpihakan aparatur, seperti Iriana Jokowi mengacungkan dua jari dan tekanan pada camat. Scene 3 (35:19–40:16) menyoroti penyalahgunaan bansos dan ketidaknetralan Presiden. Scene 4 (50:36–58:51) memperlihatkan lemahnya Bawaslu terhadap pejabat yang kampanye. Scene 5 (1:03:49– 1:32:10) mengkritik intervensi Mahkamah Konstitusi dan Mahkamah Agung. Elemen framing Entman diterapkan: masalah (04:06–08:14), penyebab (35:19–38:05), penilaian moral (50:36–58:51), dan solusi (1:32:11–1:40:00). Penelitian ini memberi kontribusi pada studi komunikasi politik dengan menunjukkan pengaruh framing media digital terhadap persepsi publik soal demokrasi.
