Abstract

ABSTRAK Kehilangan ayah sebagai pelindung utama mengubah dinamika keluarga. Ibu tunggal menjalani peran ganda sebagai pencari nafkah, pendidik, dan pengelola rumah tangga, menghadapi beban dan tantangan komunikasi dengan anak-anak. Dari latar belakang tersebut, permasalahan yang penulis teliti adalah bagaimana metode komunikasi persuasif yang diterapkan ibu dalam membina hubungan keluarga pasca kehilangan ayah di Desa Gunung Sugih, Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis dan memahami peran komunikasi persuasif ibu dalam membina hubungan keluarga pasca kehilangan ayah di Desa Gunung Sugih, Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penilitian lapangan (field research). Dengan sifat deskriptif kualitatif. Dengan sumber data primer 6 orang ibu tunggal, dan data sekunder di dapat dari hasil penelitian terdahulu yang relevan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Teori komunikasi persuasif yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menekankan bagaimana pesan dapat disampaikan secara efektif untuk memengaruhi sikap, perilaku, dan keyakinan individu melalui berbagai pendekatan. Berdasarkan Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ibu tunggal di Desa Gunung Sugih menggunakan berbagai metode komunikasi persuasif seperti metode pay off, iching, coercive dan rational dalam membina hubungan dengan anak setelah kehilangan ayah. Metode pay off sering digunakan sebagai motivasi awal, sementara komunikasi rational paling efektif memperkuat keharmonisan dan ikatan emosional keluarga. Kombinasi kedua metode ini membantu ibu tunggal mengatasi tantangan dan menjaga stabilitas keluarga, menegaskan pentingnya komunikasi persuasif sebagai strategi utama dalam mendukung peran ganda ibu dan membina keluarga yang sehat. The single mother takes on dual roles as the breadwinner, educator, and household manager, facing burdens and communication challenges with the children. From this background, the problem the author investigates is how the persuasive communication methods applied by the mother in fostering family relationships after the loss of the father in Desa Gunung Sugih, Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. The purpose of this research is to analyze and understand the role of the mother’s persuasive communication in fostering family relationships after the loss of the father in Desa Gunung Sugih, Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. This type of research is field research with a qualitative descriptive nature. The primary data source consists of 6 single mothers, and secondary data is obtained from previous relevant research results. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews, observations, and documentation. The persuasive communication theory used in this study emphasizes how messages can be delivered effectively to influence individuals’ attitudes, behaviors, and beliefs through various approaches. Based on the research, it shows that single mothers in Desa Gunung Sugih use various persuasive communication methods such as payoff, iching, coercive, and rational methods in fostering relationships with their children after losing the father. The payoff method is often used as an initial motivation, while rational communication is the most effective in strengthening family harmony and emotional bonds. The combination of these two methods helps single mothers overcome challenges and maintain family stability, affirming the importance of persuasive communication as a main strategy in supporting the dual roles of mothers and fostering a healthy family.
