Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh terbitnya Fatwa MUI No. 83 Tahun 2023 sebagai respon terhadap agresi Israel terhadap Palestina yang mendorong umat Islam untuk melakukan aksi solidaritas, salah satunya melalui pemboikotan produk terafiliasi Israel. Fatwa ini memuat landasan ayat-ayat Al-Qur‘an, namun tidak secara eksplisit menyoroti konsep jihad. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji relevansi QS. At Taubah ayat 41 terhadap fatwa tersebut melalui pendekatan ma‟na cum maghza, yang menekankan pada pemahaman makna teks secara historis, kontekstual, dan signifikansinya pada masa kini. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan studi pustaka dan analisis tafsir tematik. Data primer berupa QS. At-Taubah ayat 41, sementara data sekunder mencakup kitab tafsir lintas periode dan literatur terkait jihad, fatwa MUI, serta pendekatan ma‟na cum maghza. Pendekatan ini mengungkap makna asli teks, lalu meninjaunya dengan perbandingan munasabah ayat dengan ayat lain. Selain itu juga ditinjau dengan teks dari sumber selain Al-Qur‘an, baik hadits atau qoul (perkataan) ulama. Selanjutnya ditinjau sisi historisnya baik mikro atau makro lalu disesuaikan dengan konteks kekinian. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa makna jihad dalam Surah At-Taubah ayat 41 tidak hanya mencakup peperangan(qitāl), tetapi juga meliputi upaya non-peperangan, terutama jihad al-māl (jihad dengan harta). Bentuk jihad ini sangat relevan dengan konteks kekinian dalam mendukung Palestina, seperti melalui aksi boikot ekonomi dan kontribusi amal. Melalui pendekatan ma‟na cum maghza, pesan utama ayat ini ditafsirkan kembali agar selaras dengan realitas saat ini, menegaskan bahwa jihad adalah konsep yang dinamis dan kontekstual yang menjunjung keadilan serta solidaritas kemanusiaan tanpa harus mengandalkan kekerasan. Kata Kunci: Jihad, Fatwa MUI, Ma‟na Cum Maghza. ii ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the issuance of MUI Fatwa No. 83 of 2023 as a response to Israel's aggression against Palestine which encourages Muslims to take solidarity actions, one of which is through boycotting products affiliated with Israel. This fatwa is based on Qur'anic verses, but does not explicitly highlight the concept of jihad. Therefore, the purpose of research is to analyze the relevance of QS. At-Taubah verse 41 to the fatwa through the ma'na cum maghza approach, which focuses on understanding the meaning of the text historically, contextually, and its significance in the contemporary era. The research method used is qualitative, using library research and thematic interpretation analysis. The primary data consists of QS. At Taubah verse 41, while secondary data includes cross-period tafsir books, journals related to jihad, MUI fatwas, and the ma'na cum maghza approach. In this approach, the original meaning of the text is exposed, then it is reviewed by comparing the munasabah of the verse with other verses, and it is also studied with texts from sources other than the Qur'an, both hadith and qoul (sayings) of scholars (ulama). Furthermore, the historical aspects, both micro and macro, are reviewed, then adapted to the contemporary context. This study concludes that the meaning of jihad in Surah At-Taubah verse 41 does not only include warfare (qitāl), but also includes non- warfare meanings, especially jihad al-māl (jihad with finances). It is a type of jihad that's very relevant to the contemporary context in supporting Palestine, such as through economic boycotts and donations. Based on the ma'na cum maghza approach, the main message of this verse is reinterpreted to fit the reality of the moment, while highlighting the dynamic and contextual concept of jihad that respects justice and humanity solidarity without relying on force.
