Abstract

ABSTRAK Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal yang dilakukan sebelum penelitian, ditemukan permasalahan utama yang menjadi latar belakang dilaksanakannya penelitian ini, yaitu rendahnya pemahaman konsep Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial siswa kelas IV. Tujuan khusus dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membandingkan hasil pemahaman konsep antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan model RADEC berbantuan diorama dengan siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional, serta untuk menguji efektivitas media diorama dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran yang aktif, kreatif, dan bermakna. Penelitian ini memakai pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi experimental, menggunakan desain posttest only control. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas IV MIN 4 Bandar Lampung pada tahun ajaran 2024/2025 dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 60 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah non-probability sampling untuk menentukan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes soal uraian sebanyak 20 soal. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji prasyarat dan uji hipotesis menggunakan uji-t guna mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh model RADEC terhadap pemahaman konsep peserta didik siswa kelas IV di MIN 4 Bandar Lampung. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menggunakan uji-t melalui software SPSS versi 26.0, diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000. Karena nilai tersebut lebih kecil dari 0,05, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa (H1) diterima dan (Ho) ditolak. Dengan demikian, terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari penerapan model pembelajaran RADEC terhadap pemahaman konsep Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial siswa kelas IV di MIN 4 Bandar Lampung. Kata Kunci : Model Pembelajaran Pemahaman Konsep RADEC, Diorama, ii ABSTRACT Based on the results of preliminary observations conducted prior to the research, the main issue that served as the background for this study was identified: the low level of conceptual understanding in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) among fourth-grade students. The specific objective of this research is to compare the conceptual understanding outcomes between students taught using the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) learning model assisted by diorama and those taught using conventional methods, as well as to examine the effectiveness of diorama media in supporting an active, creative, and meaningful learning process. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi experimental research type, using a posttest-only control group design. The research was conducted in the fourth grade of MIN 4 Bandar Lampung during the 2024/2025 academic year, with a total sample of 60 students. A non-probability sampling technique was used to determine the experimental and control classes. The research instrument consisted of 20 essay-type questions. The collected data were analyzed using prerequisite tests and hypothesis testing through a t-test to determine whether the RADEC model had a significant effect on the students’ conceptual understanding. Based on the data analysis using the t-test through SPSS version 26.0, a significance value of 0.000 was obtained. Since this value is less than 0.05, it can be concluded that the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. Therefore, it can be inferred that the application of the RADEC learning model has a significant effect on the conceptual understanding of Science and Social Studies among fourth-grade students at MIN 4 Bandar Lampung.
