Abstract

ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF REMOTE MHT (MIND HEALING TECHNIQUE) ON STRESS LEVELS IN PATIENTS WITH SLE (SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS) IN LAMPUNG PROVINCE By : Marwah 2131070007 Patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) often experience severe stress due to the chronic nature and uncertainty of their condition. This stress not only affects mental health but also worsens physical symptoms and delays the recovery process. Therefore, a spiritually-based alternative therapeutic approach is needed to help reduce stress levels. The therapy used in this study is Mind Healing Technique (MHT), a Sufistic therapy method that combines positive affirmations, dhikr (remembrance of God), and visualization as a spiritual psychotherapy approach. This study aims to examine the effect of remote MHT therapy on stress levels in SLE patients in Lampung Province. This research used a quantitative approach with a quasi experimental method, applying a pretest-posttest control group design. The total number of subjects was 30 SLE patients divided into two groups: 15 in the experimental group and 15 in the control group, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) questionnaire to measure stress levels before and after the intervention. The data analysis technique used a paired sample t-test, which showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that the therapy was effective in reducing stress in SLE patients. Thus, it can be concluded that remote MHT therapy has a positive effect in helping manage stress in patients with chronic autoimmune diseases such as SLE, and it is recommended as part of spiritual counseling or psycho spiritual therapy services.
