Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran LAPS (Logan Avenue Problem Solving)-Heuristic terhadap kemampuan penalaran ilmiah ilmiah dan keterampilan komunikasi peserta didik kelas XI pada mata pelajaran Biologi di MAN 1 Pringsewu. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendan nya kemampuan penalaran ilmiah ilmiah dan keterampilan komunikasi peserta didik berdasarkan hasil pra-penelitian dan wawancara dengan guru Biologi yang menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran masih didominasi oleh Model pembelajaran yang digunakan yaitu LAPS (Logan Avenue Problem Solving)-Heuristic dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group desain. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh kelas XI MAN 1 Pringsewu yang mengambil pilihan mata pelajaran Biologi dan teknik sampling dengan Cluser Random Sampling serta menggunakan sample penelitian dengan kelas kontrol sebanyak 35 dan kelas eksperimen sebanyak 36. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal Essay dan istrumen lembar Observasi untuk mengukur keterampilan komunikasi yang sudan melalui serangkaian tahap uji prasyarat analisis. Sehingga seluruh instrumen layak digunakan dalam penelitian. Teknikanalisis data menggunakan uji Anova. Hasil peneliti menunjukan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran LAPS (Logan Avenue Problem Solving)-Heuristic berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan penalaran ilmiah dan keterampilan komunikasi. Hal tersebut sesuai dengan hasil uji Anova yaitu pada kemampuan penalaran ilmiah ilmiah menunjukkan hasil sig.(2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < α (0,05), pada Keterampilan Komunikasi menunjukkan hasil sig.(2 tailed) sebesar 0,000 < α (0,05), sehingga Ho ditolak dan H1 diterima. Kata Kunci: Kemampuan penalaran ilmiah , Keterampilan Komunikasi, LAPS (Logan Avenue Problem Solving)-Heuristic ii ABSTRACT This research aimed to investigate the influence of the LAPS (Logan Avenue Problem Solving)-Heuristic learning model on the scientific reasoning ability and communication skills of eleventh-grade students in Biology at MAN 1 Pringsewu. The background for this study was the low levels of scientific reasoning and communication skills observed in students, based on preliminary research findings and interviews with Biology teachers, which indicated that learning was still predominantly conventional. The research employed a Nonequivalent Control Group Design with the LAPS-Heuristic learning model. The population for this study comprised all eleventh-grade students at MAN 1 Pringsewu who selected Biology as an elective subject. Cluster Random Sampling was used as the sampling technique, resulting in a sample of 35 students in the control group and 36 students in the experimental group. Research instruments included essay questions and observation sheets to measure communication skills, all of which underwent a series of prerequisite analysis tests to ensure their validity for use in the study. ANOVA was used for data analysis. The research findings indicate that the application of the LAPS (Logan Avenue Problem Solving)-Heuristic learning model influences both scientific reasoning and communication skills. This is supported by the ANOVA test results: for scientific reasoning ability, the sig.(2 tailed) value was 0.000 < α (0.05), and for communication skills, the sig.(2-tailed) value was also 0.000 < α (0.05). Consequently, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted.
