Abstract

ABSTRAK Pembelajaran IPA Biologi di SMP Negeri 3 Sukoharjo masih berfokus terhadap guru dan kurang memperlihatkan menggunakan model-model pembelajaran yang membangun keterampilan berpikir kritis. Keterampilan berpikir kritis penting dikembangkan dalam diri peserta didik karena kemampuan tersebut dapat dijadikan sebagai bekal dalam menghadapi masalah yang ada pada konteks dunia nyata. Model pembelajaran probing prompting dinilai cocok untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik hal ini dikarenakan model ini menekankan pada pemberian pertanyaan yang bersifat menggali (probing) dan menuntun (prompting), sehingga mampu mengaktifkan proses berpikir peserta didik secara lebih mendalam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Probing Prompting Terhadap Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Peserta Didik Di SMP Pada Materi Sistem Reproduksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi ekspriment design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas IX di SMP Negeri 3 Sukoharjo. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik Simple Random Sampling. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari kelas IX D sebagai kelas Eksperimen dan IX A sebagai kelas Kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal essay kemampuan berpikir kritis. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari penggunaan model Pembelajaran Probing Prompting Terhadap Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Peserta Didik yang ditunjukkan pada nilai sig. 0,000 > 0,05 yang berarti H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak. Keberhasilan dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi baik pada era pendidikan abad 21 ini dimana Keterampilan keterampilan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu kompetensi yang penting di era ini. Critical thinking skills are important to be developed in students because these abilities can be used as provisions in facing problems in the real world context. The probing prompting learning model is considered suitable for developing students' critical thinking skills because this model emphasizes providing probing and guiding questions, so it can activate students' thinking processes more deeply. This study aims to determine the Effect of the Probing Prompting Learning Model on Critical Thinking Skills of Students in Junior High Schools on the Reproductive System Material. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi experimental design method. The population in this study were all grade IX students at SMP Negeri 3 Sukoharjo. The sampling technique in this study used the Simple Random Sampling technique. The sample of this study consisted of class IX D as the Experimental class and IX A as the Control class. The research instrument was in the form of essay questions on critical thinking skills. The results of the study showed that there was a significant influence of the use of the Probing Prompting Learning Model on Students' Critical Thinking Skills as shown in the sig. value of 0.000> 0.05 which means H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. The success of this research is expected to provide a good contribution to the 21st century education era where critical thinking skills are one of the important competencies in this era.
