Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan dampak pembangunan irigasi Way Sekampung terhadap kehidupan masyarakat Sukadana pada tahun 1935-1941. Untuk menjelaskan isi, ada tiga kajian penelitian yang dijawab yaitu: 1) Apa yang melatari pembangunan jaringan irigasi Way Sekampung oleh pemerintah Belanda. 2) Bagaimana proses pembangunan jaringan irigasi Way Sekampung di Sukadana. 3) Apa dampak dari pembangunan jaringan irigasi Way Sekampung terhadap kehidupan masyarakat Sukadana. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah yang meliputi, heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Sumber sejarah yang didapatkan dari Arsip Nasional Republik Indonesia (ANRI), Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia (Perpusnas RI) dan sumber online. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dampak jaringan irigasi Way Sekampung memiliki peranan penting dalam kehidupan pertanian kolonis. Keberhasilan dalam mengelola pertanian memberikan hasil penghidupan yang lebih baik. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai dampak jaringan irigasi bagi masyarakat di kolonisasi Sukadana. Kata Kunci: Irigasi, Way Sekampung, Pertanian, Masyarakat Sukadana ii ABSTRACT This research aims to explain the impact of the Way Sekampung irrigation development on the lives of the Sukadana people in 1935 1941. To explain the content, there are three research studies answered, namely: 1) What is the reason behind the construction of the Way Sekampung irrigation network by the Dutch government. 2) What is the process of building the Way Sekampung irrigation network in Sukadana. 3) What is the impact of the construction of the Way Sekampung irrigation network on the lives of the Sukadana people. This research uses historical methods which include heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Historical sources obtained from the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI), National Library of the Republic of Indonesia (Perpusnas RI) and online sources. The results of this research show that the impact of the Way Sekampung irrigation network has an important role in the lives of agricultural colonists. Success in managing agriculture provides better livelihood results. This research is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the impact of irrigation networks on communities in the Sukadana colonization.
