Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini di latar belakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar peserta didik yang disebabkan oleh penggunaan metode pembelajaran yang kurang inovatif, sehingga kurang menarik minat belajar peserta didik. Proses pembelajaran masih berpusat pada guru sebagai sumber utama informasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meneliti lebih dalam pengaruh metode Word Square dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik di SMA Negeri 1 Natar Lampung Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian Quasi Experimental dan desain Non-equivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Natar yang berjumlah 431 peserta didik. Sampel terdiri dari 70 peserta didik yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik sampling purposive, terbagi dalam dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen (X.10) dan kelas kontrol (X.11), masing-masing berjumlah 35 peserta didik. Teknik Pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan Independent Sample t test. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai posttest kelas eksperimen adalah 85,29 dan kelas kontrol adalah 79,14, dengan nilai signifikansi (Sig. 2-tailed) 0,010 < 0,05 yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar yang signifikan antara kedua kelas, yang berarti hipotesis alternatif (H ) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H ) ditolak. Selain itu, metode Word Square memberikan pengaruh sebesar 9,36% terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada penggunaan metode Word Square dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik di SMA Negeri 1 Natar Lampung Selatan. The learning process is still centered on the teacher as the main source of information. The purpose of this study was to examine more deeply the effect of the Word Square method in learning Islamic Religious Education on student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 1 Natar South Lampung. This study employs a quantitative approach with a quasi experimental research type and a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study consists of all tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Natar, totaling 431 students. The sample comprises 70 students selected using purposive sampling technique, divided into two classes: the experimental class (X.10) and the control class (X.11), with 35 students in each class. Data collection techniques include observation, testing, and documentation. Data analysis techniques involve descriptive statistical analysis, normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample t-test. The results of data analysis show that the average posttest score of the experimental class is 85.29 and the control class is 79.14, with a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.010 < 0.05 which indicates that there is a significant difference in learning outcomes between the two class, which means that the alternative hypothesis (H ) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H ) is rejected. In addition, the Word Square method has an effect of 9.36% on improving learning outcomes. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect on the use of the Word Square method in learning Islamic Religious Education on student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 1 Natar South Lampung.
