Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini berjudul “Pengaruh Desain Ruang Baca terhadap Tingkat Kunjung di Perpustakaan Malahayati.” Berdasarkan penelitian, desain ruang baca di Perpustakaan Universitas Malahayati belum memenuhi beberapa standar yang telah ditetapkan untuk perpustakaan perguruan tinggi, Permasalahan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah belum optimalnya desain ruang baca di Perpustakaan Universitas Malahayati, yang ditinjau dari aspek tata ruang, warna, pencahayaan, sirkulasi udara, dan tata suara, serta pengaruhnya terhadap frekuensi kunjungan pengguna. Batasan masalah pada penelitian ini adalah Penelitian ini fokus pada pengaruh desain ruang baca Perpustakaan yaitu pada elemen-elemen desain ruang baca terhadap tingkat kunjung di Perpustakaan Universitas Malahayati. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah adakah pengaruh desain ruang baca terhadap tingkat kunjung di Perpustakaan Universitas Malahayati dan seberapa besar pengaruh desain ruang baca terhadap tingkat kunjung di Perpustakaan Universitas Malahayati. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh desain ruang baca perpustakaan di Perpustakaan Universitas Malahayati terhadap tingkat kunjung dan untuk mengkaji seberapa besar pengaruh desain ruang baca perpustakaan terhadap tingkat kunjung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel diambil dari populasi 17.000 pengunjung. Menurut Frankel dan Wallen, sampel 100 orang atau lebih dapat mewakili populasi karena berdasarkan distribusi normal, sampel 100 orang atau diatasnya sudah layak untuk menggambarkan populasi, maka peneliti mengambil sampel sebanyak 100 responden dari pengunjung yang sedang berkunjung di Perpustakaan Universitas Malahayati. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan regresi linear sederhana yang didasarkan pada hubungan fungsional ataupun kausal satu variabel independent dengan satu variabel dependent. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa desain ruang baca dapat mempengaruhi tingkat kunjung di Perpustakaan Universitas Malahayati, maka dapat disimpulkan ada pengaruh yang signifikan desain ruang baca terhadap tingkat kunjung di Perpustakaan Universitas Malahayati hal tersebut ditunjukkan dari hasil uji regresi linear sederhana nilai t hitung sebesar 10,866 dan t tabel statistik dengan signifikansi 0,05 adalah sebesar 0,1996. Karena t hitung (10,866) > t tabel (0,1996), H0 ditolak dan maka Ha diterima yang artinya ada pengaruh antara desain ruang baca terhadap tingkat ii kunjung di Perpustakaan Universitas Malahayati. Besar pengaruh desain ruang baca terhadap tingkat kunjung di Perpustakaan Universitas Malahayati adalah 0,546 diperoleh dari hasil uji koefisien determinasi ( R Square). Berdasarkan hasil uji tersebut dapat di simpulkan besar pengaruh desain ruang baca terhadap tingkat kunjung di Perpustakaan Universitas Malahayati adalah 54,6%. Based on the research, the reading room design at Malahayati University Library does not meet several standards established for university libraries. The main problem in this study is the suboptimal design of the reading room at Malahayati University Library, as reviewed in terms of spatial layout, color, lighting, air circulation, and sound system, as well as their impact on the frequency of user visits. The problem limitation in this study is: This study focuses on the influence of the library's reading room design, specifically its design elements, on visit rates at Malahayati University Library. The research problem formulation in this study is whether there is an effect of reading room design on visit rates at Malahayati University Library and to what extent the reading room design influences visit rates at Malahayati University Library. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of the library's reading room design at Malahayati University Library on visit rates and to examine the extent of the influence of the library's reading room design on visit rates. This study uses a quantitative approach. The sample was drawn from a population of 17,000 visitors. According to Frankel and Wallen, a sample of 100 or more people can represent a population because, based on a normal distribution, a sample of 100 people or more is sufficient to describe the population. Therefore, the researchers took a sample of 100 respondents from visitors to the Malahayati University Library. This research instrument used simple linear regression based on the functional or causal relationship between one independent variable and one dependent variable. Based on the results of this study, it shows that the design of the reading room can influence the level of visits at the Malahayati University Library. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the design of the reading room on the level of visits at the Malahayati University Library. This is indicated by the results of the simple linear regression test, with a calculated t value of 10.866 and a statistical t table with a significance level of 0.05 of 0.1996. Because the calculated t (10.866) > t table (0.1996), H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, indicating that there is an effect between the design of the reading room and the level of visits at the Malahayati University Library. The magnitude of the influence of the reading room design on the level of visits at the Malahayati University Library iv is 0.546 obtained from the results of the determination coefficient test (R Square). Based on the results of the test, it can be concluded that the magnitude of the influence of the reading room design on the level of visits at the Malahayati University Library is 54.6%.
