ABSTRACT This study discusses the Impact of Pasir Gintung Market Relocation on the Socio-Economic Life of Street Vendors in Bandar Lampung City. The relocation carried out by the Bandar Lampung City Government aims to improve urban planning and overcome congestion due to the presence of street vendors, if the city center does not want to be decorated with street vendors, then street vendors must be arranged properly. Such as providing a location for trading so as not to damage the beauty, comfort, cleanliness and order of the city. Then a policy was born from the government for street vendors, namely the relocation policy. However, after the relocation carried out in Pasir Gintung Market, it had a socio-economic impact on street vendors, traders admitted that sales turnover and consumers had decreased by 40 to 50 percent from their old place. The formulation of the problem in this study is how is the socio-economic life of street vendors in Pasir Gintung Market, Bandar Lampung and how is the impact of relocation on the socio-economic life of street vendors in Pasir Gintung Market, Bandar Lampung. This study uses a qualitative approach with a sociological approach to determine the Impact of Pasir Gintung Market Relocation on the Socio-Economic Life of Street Vendors in Bandar Lampung City. The data contained in this study were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. This study is descriptive. Informants in this study were conducted using the Purposive Sampling technique. The informants in this study consisted of three informants, namely the head of the Pasir Gintung market UPT as the key informant, the head of the trader association as an additional informant, and traders and consumers as additional informants. This study uses the Social Construction theory to analyze. The results of the study show that relocation has significant social and economic impacts. From a social perspective, there have been changes in the pattern of interaction between traders, such as decreasing the intensity of cooperation and increasing competition. Meanwhile, from an economic perspective, many traders have experienced a decrease in income of up to 40-50% due to the lack of attraction of new markets, less strategic stall management, and a decrease in the number of visitors. Although there has been an increase in the cleanliness and legality of trader status, there are still many obstacles in the adaptation process, both psychologically and structurally. This study recommends the need for a humanist approach in relocation policies, which considers the economic sustainability and social comfort of traders.
