Abstract

Aloe vera is a traditional medicinal ingredient with many benefits, including antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. Aloe vera Lcontains flavonoid, tannin, and saponin compounds that can accelerate wound healing. Aloe vera functions as an antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant. This study aims to determine the effect of "Aloe vera Antiseptic Gel" on burns. This research is experimental with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD).The gel was made in three concentration variations: (15%), (30%), and (45%).The gel was tested physically, such as pH.The result was that the gel was semi-solid, clear to greenish in color, and had a characteristic Aloe vera scent. The gel and positive control (Silver sulfadiazine 1%) were then tested on each experimental group, and the effectiveness of wound healing was compared. The research results show that the use of Aloe vera gel causes the burn wounds to gradually shrink. At a concentration of (15%), the burn wound diameter decreased by 6.6 mm on the 25th day.Meanwhile, at concentrations of (30%) and (45%), the wounds shrank to 4.7 mm and 0 mm, respectively. The positive control showed a wound reduction of up to 1.1 mm after 25 days.In conclusion, Aloe vera antiseptic gel is effective in healing burns with an optimal concentration in the F3 preparation (45%).
