Abstract

ABSTRAK Paradigma keadilan pada era modern seringkali didominasi oleh pemikiran sekuler yang menekankan aspek rasionalitas dan materialitas, seperti terlihat dalam aliaran liberalisme di Barat. Berbeda dengan itu, Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas menawarkan paradigma keadilan yang berakar pada nilai-nilai Islam, dimana keadilan dipandang sebagai sistem yang telah ada sejak sebelum penciptaan alam semesta dan bersumber dari wahyu serta moralitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis paradigma konsep keadilan menurut Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas serta relevansinya dalam konteks keadilan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kepustakaan (library research) dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, serta analisis kritis dan hermeneutika untuk memahami pemikiran Al-attas secara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa paradigma keadilan Al-Attas menekankan terciptanya kondisi harmonis, di mana segala sesuatu berada pada tempat yang benar berdasarkan wahyu dan moralitas Islam. Konsep ini sangat relevan dalam menjawab berbagai problematika keadilan di Indonesia, seperti ketidakadilan sosial dan krisis moral. Pendidikan berbasis ta‟dib (adab) dan integrasi nilai-nilai moral dalam sistem hukum menjadi solusi utama untuk membangun masyarakat yang adil dan beradab di Indonesia. ABSTRACT The concept of justice in the modern era is often colored by the development of ideas about freedom, such as the emergence of liberalism in the Western world. In contrast, Islam views justice as a system that governs the universe, a system that has existed even before the creation of the universe itself. Justice that is enforced solely on the basis of positive law without considering moral and spiritual dimensions tends to result in structural injustice that is detrimental. In this context, Al-Attas’s concept of justice, which places the relationship between God and humans as the fundamental basis, prioritizes the harmony between rights and obligations, and emphasizes that justice must be implemented based on revelation and morality. This research aims to analyze the paradigm of justice according to Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas and its relevance in the Indonesian context. Justice in Al-Attas’s perspective not only encompasses relationships between humans, but also involves humans’ relationship with God, nature, and themselves. Al-Attas’s paradigm of justice is constructed on the integration of knowledge, adab (ethics), and the essence of reality, which stands in contrast to the secular Western paradigm that tends to be rationalistic and materialistic. The research method used is library research with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data analysis is conducted using critical and hermeneutic methods to deeply understand Al-Attas’s thought. The results show that Al-Attas’s paradigm of justice emphasizes justice as a harmonious condition in which everything is in its rightful place, based on revelation and Islamic morality. This concept is relevant for addressing issues of justice in Indonesia, such as social injustice, human rights violations, and moral crises. Education based on ta’dib (ethical education) and the integration of moral values into law become the main solutions to realizing a just and civilized society.
