Abstract

ABSTRAK Kepala sekolah merupakan sentral pendidikan yang memiliki peran penting dalam pengambilan keputusan disekolah saat menghadapi masalah. Pada lima tahun terakhir disalah satu sekolah swasta menengah atas di Kabupaten Tanggamus mengalami penurunan jumlah siswa dari tahun ke tahun, minimnya minat calon peserta didik yang melanjutkan Pendidikan di sekolah tersebut. Minimnya minat calon peserta didik menlanjutkan Pendidikan di SMA Muhamamdiyah Kotaagung karena hal ini disebabkan oleh berbagai faktor kebanyakan dari mereka memilih melanjutkan sekolah di Sekolah kejuruan. Hal ini memberikan dampak yang negative bagi sekolah, dalam menyelesaikan hal ini kepala sekolah tidak berdiam diri kepala sekolah akan mengambil keputusan untuk menyelesaikan masalah tersebut. Pengambilan keputusan merupakan proses penting dalam manajemen, termasuk dalam konteks pendidikan. Di SMA Muhammadiyah Kota Agung, pengambilan keputusan dilakukan secara kolektif oleh kepala sekolah bersama dewan guru dan tenaga pendidik. Proses ini melibatkan identifikasi masalah, analisis alternatif, dan pemilihan solusi yang paling efektif untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang dihadapi, seperti minimnya minat calon peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Tempat penelitian di SMA Muhamamdiyah Kotaagung dengan subjek penelitian atau narasumber, Kepala Sekolah, Waka Kesiswaan dan Kepala TU. Dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Dalam analisis data peneliti menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Pada uji keabsahan data peneliti menggunakan triangulasi sumber, guna memastikan bahwa informasi yang didapat adalah data yang valid. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah melakukan proses pengambilan keputusan secara sistematis melalui iii beberapa tahap, yaitu identifikasi masalah, analisis alternatif solusi, dan pemilihan alternatif terbaik. Kepala sekolah juga melibatkan dewan guru dan tenaga pendidik dalam proses musyawarah untuk menentukan langkah strategis yang dapat diterapkan. Evaluasi dilakukan secara berkala untuk memastikan efektivitas program yang telah dijalankan. Dengan demikian, strategi pengambilan keputusan yang diterapkan kepala sekolah terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan daya tarik sekolah di tengah tantangan yang ada. In the last five years, one of the private high schools in Tanggamus Regency has experienced a decrease in the number of students from year to year, the lack of interest in prospective students who continue their education at the school. The lack of interest of prospective students to continue their education at SMA Muhamamdiyah Kotaagung is due to various factors, most of them choose to continue their education at vocational schools. This has a negative impact on the school, in solving this the principal will not be silent, the principal will make a decision to solve the problem. Decision-making is an important process in management, including in the context of education. At SMA Muhammadiyah Kota Agung, decision-making is carried out collectively by the principal together with the teacher council and educators. This process involves identifying problems, analyzing alternatives, and selecting the most effective solutions to overcome the problems faced, such as the lack of interest of prospective students. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive method. The research place at SMA Muhamamdiyah Kotaagung with research subjects or resource persons, the Principal, the Vice President of Student Affairs and the Head of TU. With data collection techniques using interview, observation and documentation methods. In data analysis, the researcher uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawn. In the data validity test, the researcher uses triangulation of sources, to ensure that the information obtained is valid data. The results of the study show that school principals carry out a systematic decision-making process through several stages, namely problem identification, analysis of alternative solutions, and selection of the best alternative. The principal also involves the v teacher council and educators in the deliberative process to determine strategic steps that can be implemented. Evaluations are carried out periodically to ensure the effectiveness of the programs that have been implemented. Thus, the decision-making strategies implemented by school principals have proven to be effective in increasing the attractiveness of schools in the midst of existing challenges.
