Abstract

ABSTRACT Dangerous actions such as driving against traffic, driving at high speed, making random turns that can endanger yourself and others are called aggressive driving. In Indonesia, 61% of accidents which are one of the impacts of aggressive driving are caused by human factors or human error such as problems with inability or driving skills and driver character such as negligence, carelessness, and recklessness (Biro Komunikasi dan Informasi Publik, 2023). This study aims to determine the relationship between social identity and moral disengagement with aggressive driving in motorcyclist students. The population of this study were students majoring in Motorcycle Engineering at SMK Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung, using quantitative methods with purposive sampling techniques and obtained 85 motorcyclist students. The data collection technique used three scales, namely the aggressive driving scale totaling 17 items (α = 0.923), the social identity scale totaling 16 items (α = 0.916) and the moral disengagement scale totaling 20 items (α = 0.919). The analysis technique in this data uses multiple regression analysis with the help of JASP 0.17.1.0 for windows software. The results of this study indicate that social identity and moral disengagement together influence aggressive driving with a value of r = 0.311 p <0.001 and an effective contribution of 31.1%, the remaining 68.9% is influenced by other factors not studied. The results of the second hypothesis were obtained with a value of (rx₁y) = 0.357 with p <0.001, meaning that there is a significant positive relationship between social identity and aggressive driving in motorcyclist students, with an effective contribution of 12.50%. The results of the third hypothesis were obtained with a value of rx2y = 0.434 with p <0.001, meaning that there is a significant positive relationship between moral disengagement and aggressive driving in student motorcyclists, with an effective contribution of 18.60%. It can be concluded that all hypotheses in this study are accepted. Keywords: Social Identity, Moral Disengagement and Aggressive Driving.
