Abstract

ABSTRACT In the era of digitalization, information technology has become the key in accelerating and facilitating various activities, including in the field of education. At MAN 2 Bandar Lampung, the student attendance system is still done manually, which is prone to errors, data manipulation, and time-consuming. To overcome this problem, this study developed an Android-based student attendance application that utilizes Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. This application is designed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method for rapid development and Location Based Service (LBS) to ensure the accuracy of students' location when conducting attendance and system testing using the ISO 25010 method. Data collection was carried out by obgrservation, interviews and literature studies. The programming languages used in the builder of this system are PHP and Java using react native with android studio and visual studio tools as Java, PHP and HTML code editors. The results of this study show that the design and implementation of android-based student attendance applications have been successfully carried out. This system is designed to overcome the problem of attendance which was originally manual to automatic. With this application, it can help schools in recording the attendance process faster, more efficiently, and accurately, while supporting transparency and student discipline. This GPS-based attendance application is expected to be an innovative solution for more modern and integrated student attendance management, supporting the school's progress in adopting technology. Keywords: Presence, GPS, RAD, ISO 25010, PHP, HTML.
