Abstract

ABSTRAK Citra tubuh pada dewasa awal pengguna aplikasi TikTok menjadi isu penting di era media sosial, di mana platform ini memungkinkan perbandingan diri dengan standar kecantikan yang sering ditampilkan oleh konten kreator populer. Pada tahap dewasa awal, individu sedang membentuk identitas diri, termasuk bagaimana mereka memandang tubuh mereka, yang dapat dipengaruhi oleh paparan standar ideal ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara kebersyukuran dan komparasi sosial terhadap citra tubuh pada dewasa awal pengguna aplikasi TikTok. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode analisis regresi linear berganda. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa prodi Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam (KPI) UIN Raden Intan Lampung tahun 2023, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa skala citra tubuh dengan koefisien reliabilitas Cronbach’s Alpha sebesar 0.876, skala kebersyukuran (GQ-6) dengan reliabilitas 0.941, serta skala komparasi sosial dengan reliabilitas 0.950. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan secara bersama-sama antara kebersyukuran dan komparasi sosial dengan citra tubuh, dengan nilai koefisien R sebesar 0.589 dan F sebesar 23.607 (p < 0.01). Kedua variabel bebas memberikan kontribusi efektif sebesar 34.7% terhadap citra tubuh, sementara 65.3% sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain di luar penelitian ini. Secara parsial, kebersyukuran memiliki hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan citra tubuh, dengan koefisien korelasi (rx1-y) sebesar 0.459 (p < 0.01) dan kontribusi efektif sebesar 14.7%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi rasa kebersyukuran individu, semakin positif pula citra tubuh yang dimiliki. Sebaliknya, komparasi sosial memiliki hubungan negatif yang signifikan dengan citra tubuh, dengan koefisien korelasi (rx1-y) sebesar -0.507 (p < 0.01) dan kontribusi efektif sebesar 20%. Semakin tinggi komparasi sosial, semakin rendah atau semakin negatif citra tubuh yang dirasakan individu. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya kebersyukuran dalam meningkatkan citra tubuh yang positif dan dampak negatif dari komparasi sosial terhadap citra tubuh pada dewasa awal pengguna TikTok. ABSTRACT Body image among young adult TikTok users has become a significant issue in the social media era, where the platform enables self-comparison with beauty standards often showcased by popular content creators. At the young adult stage, individuals are in the process of forming their self-identity, including how they view their own bodies, which can be influenced by exposure to these idealized standards. This study aims to examine the relationship between gratitude and social comparison on body image among young adult TikTok users. This study employs a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis. The research subjects are students from the Communication and Islamic Broadcasting (KPI) program at UIN Raden Intan Lampung in 2023, with the sampling technique using purposive sampling. The research instruments include a body image scale with a Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficient of 0.876, a gratitude scale (GQ-6) with a reliability of 0.941, and a social comparison scale with a reliability of 0.950. The analysis results indicate a significant joint relationship between gratitude and social comparison with body image, with an R coefficient of 0.589 and an F value of 23.607 (p < 0.01). The two independent variables contribute 34.7% to body image, while the remaining 65.3% is influenced by other variables outside this study. In partial terms, gratitude shows a significant positive relationship with body image, with a correlation coefficient (rx1-y) of 0.459 (p < 0.01) and an effective contribution of 14.7%. This finding suggests that the higher an individual’s gratitude, the more positive their body image. Conversely, social comparison shows a significant negative relationship with body image, with a correlation coefficient (rx1-y) of -0.507 (p < 0.01) and an effective contribution of 20%. The higher the social comparison, the lower or more negative the body image perceived by the individual. These findings underscore the importance of gratitude in fostering a positive body image and highlight the negative impact of social comparison on body image among young adult TikTok users.
