Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to know whether there was a significant influence between students’ vocabulary mastery who were taught by word wall media and those who were not taught by word wall media at SMP Ma’arif NU 04 Darurrohmah Sukadana. The method used in this study was a quantitative method and the design used in this study was pre-experimental. The sampling used in this study was determined using cluster random sampling. The sample of this research was students of 8A class of SMP Ma’arif NU 04 Darurrohmah Sukadana. In collecting data, the researcher used a pretest and posttest in the form of 25 multiple choice questions. This research used tests to collecting the data, namely pre- test and post test. The pre-test conducted before the treatment, whereas the post-test conducted after the treatment. The finding of this research could be seen from the difference of the students’ mean score on the pre-test and post-test. The mean score of the pre-test was 36,93 and on the post-test was 42. In addition, based on the analysis of the data calculation, it was obtained that value of significant sig. (2 tailed) 0.40< 0.05. It could be concluded that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. There was significant influence of students vocabulary mastery after the using of Word Wall Media. It caused students seen less motivated when taking the post-test. Therefore, the researcher suggests that other researchers should focuse more on increasing sstudents’ learning motivation. Keywords : Vocabulary Mastery, Word Wall, Media in Teaching
