Abstract

ABSTRAK Masalah utama dalam penelitian ini adalah kesulitan belajar matematika peserta didik pada soal cerita matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesulitan belajar matematika peserta didik pada soal cerita matematika. Soal cerita merupakan soal yang dinilai telah memiliki tingkat kesulitan yang tinggi dibanding dengan soal matematika yang menampilkan model matematika secara langsung. Soal cerita matematika bertujuan untuk siswa berlatih dan berpikir secara deduktif, dapat melihat hubungan dan kegunaan matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, dan dapat menguasai keterampilan matematika serta memperkuat penguasaan konsep matematika. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu penelitian yang berusaha mendeskripsikan suatu gejala, peristiwa, kejadian yang terjadi pada saat sekarang di MIN 1 Pesawaran. Subjek penelitian yaitu peserta didik kelas V A sebanyak 33 orang dengan 5 peserta didik yang peneliti jadikan sampel, serta wali kelas V A. Prosedur pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa peserta didik kelas V A yang berjumlah 5 dari 33 siswa mengalami kesulitan belajar matematika dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita. Kesulitan belajar matematika pada soal cerita yang terjadi di kelas V A meliputi kesulitan memahami konsep, kesulitan dalam keterampilan, dan kesulitan memecahkan masalah. Faktor yang menyebabkan kesulitan belajar matematika berasal dari faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Faktor internal yang berasal dari peserta didik meliputi IQ atau intelegensi, minat dan motivasi belajar peserta didik yang masih rendah, serta kesehatan tubuh yang tidak optimal. Sedangkan faktor eksternal yang berasal dari luar peserta didik antara lain kurangnya variasi mengajar guru, pengaruh gadget dan teman bermain di rumah, serta lingkungan keluarga. Kata kunci: Kesulitan Belajar Peserta Didik, Soal Cerita Matematika. iii ABSTRACT The main problem in this research is students' mathematics learning difficulties in mathematics story problems. This research aims to analyze students' mathematics learning difficulties in mathematics story problems. Story problems are questions that are considered to have a high level of difficulty compared to mathematics questions that display mathematical models directly. Mathematics story questions aim for students to practice and think deductively, be able to see the relationships and uses of mathematics in everyday life, and be able to master mathematical skills and strengthen mastery of mathematical concepts. This research method uses descriptive qualitative, namely research that attempts to describe a symptom, event, incident that is currently occurring at MIN 1 Pesawaran. The research subjects were 33 students in class V A, with 5 students used as samples by the researcher, as well as the homeroom teacher of class V A. The data collection procedures used were observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research showed that 5 of the 33 students in class V A had difficulty learning mathematics in solving story problems. Difficulties learning mathematics in word problems that occur in class V A include difficulties understanding concepts, difficulties in skills, and difficulties solving problems. Factors that cause difficulties in learning mathematics come from internal factors and external factors. Internal factors originating from students include IQ or intelligence, students' interest and motivation to learn which is still low, and body health which is not optimal. Meanwhile, external factors originating from outside students include the lack of variety in teacher teaching, the influence of gadgets and playmates at home, and the family environment.
