Abstract

ABSTRAK PENGARUH PENDEKATAN PEMBELAJARAN STEM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, MATHEMATICS) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERFIKIR KRITIS DAN SIKAP ILMIAH PESERTA DIDIK Oleh Mohammad Syafrizal Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis dan sikap ilmiah peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan pembelajaran STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mthematics) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan sikap ilmiah peserta didik. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan penelitian Quasi eksperimen, menggunakan desain penelitian Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VIII sebanyak 256 peserta didik yang terdiri dari 8 kelas. Sampel pada penelitian ini diambil dengan Teknik Cluster Random Sampling dan diperoleh kelas VIII E sebagai kelas eksperimen menerapkan pendekatan pembelajaran STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mthematics) dan kelas VIII F sebagai kelas kontrol menerapkan model pembelajaran Direct Instruction. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, angket dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji Independent sample test untuk menjawab hipotesis. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis dalam penelitian ini, diperoleh nilai signifikan 0,000 < 0,05 untuk soal kemampuan berpikir kritis dan 0,000 < 0,05 untuk angket sikap ilmiah. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa H0 = ditolak dan H1 = diterima. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pendekatan pembelajaran STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mthematics) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan sikap ilmiah peserta didik. This research aims to determine the effect of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning approach on students' critical thinking abilities and scientific attitudes. This research was conducted at MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung. This research approach is quantitative research with quasi experimental research, using a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design research design. The population in this study was all 256 class VIII students consisting of 8 classes. The sample in this study was taken using the Cluster Random Sampling Technique and obtained class VIII E as the experimental class applying the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning approach and class VIII F as the control class applying the Direct Instruction learning model. Data collection uses tests, questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique uses an independent sample test to answer the hypothesis. Based on the results of hypothesis testing in this research, a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05 was obtained for the critical thinking ability question and 0.000 < 0.05 for the scientific attitude questionnaire. This shows that H0 = rejected and H1 = accepted. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning approach on students' critical thinking abilities and scientific attitudes.
