Abstract

ABSTRACT This study is prompted by the wave of globalization that serves all human requirements. One aspect of globalization that has evolved the digital technology in education, technology serves as a learning tools and resources. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The primary subjects of this study are students in the comprehensive listening class, with 17 students serving as the sample. The researcher divided the data analysis into three stages: data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this research show that technology has benefits for learning. namely helping to improve collaborative learning, nurturing and cultivating personal talents, enhancing a sense of responsibility towards learning outcomes, fostering independence and self-confidence, facilitating communication skills, promoting imagination and creativity, making learning decisions, and finally helping to identify difficulties and find learning solutions in extensive listening classes. In addition, technology also has both positive and negative impacts on students' learning outcomes. In a positive effect, technology helps students increase engagements. This research can be used by students as learning materials, to add insight into learning, and to help students understand the benefits of technology for supporting learning. Furthermore, this research can assist lecturers or educators as a guideline to improve their knowledge of digital technology. Lastly, for the next researcher, it can be used as a valid reference source for research studies in the field of digital education and student engagement.
