Abstract

ABSTRAK Salah satu masalah yang sering terjadi dikalangan mahasiswa tingkat akhir yaitu cenderung timbul rasa bosan, sehingga mahasiswa cenderung mengalihkan dengan hal yang menyenangkan daripada mengerjakan skripsi. Apabila seorang mahasiswa tidak dapat mengatur waktunya, maka mahasiswa tidak akan menyelesaikan tugas skripsi atau mahasiswa akan cenderung menunda tugas yang biasa disebut prokrastinasi akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara konformitas teman sebaya dan ketakutan akan kegagalan dengan prokrastnasi akademik pada mahasiswa teknik mesin. Populasi penelitian yaitu mahasiswa teknik mesin di Universitas Negeri Lampung, menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Partisipan penelitian didapatkan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan diperoleh sebanyak 87orang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tiga skala, yaitu skala prokrastinasi akademik 36 aitem (α=0.94 ), skala konformitas teman sebaya 19 aitem (α =0.856 ) dan skala ketakutan akan kegagalan 30 aitem (α=0.915). Teknik analisis data menggunakan analaisis regresi berganda dengan bantuan software JASP 0.19.1.0 for windows. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konformitas teman sebaya dan ketakutan akan kegagalan bersama-sama mempengaruhi prokrastinasi akademik pada mahasiswa teknik mesin dengan nilai r=0.269 dengan p<0.001 dan sumbangan efektif sebesar 26.9% sisanya sebesar 73.1% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini. Hasil hipotesis kedua diperoleh dengan nilai rx1y=0.357 dengan p<0.001 artinya terdapat hubungan signifikan negatif antara konformitas teman sebaya dengan prokrastinasi akademik pada mahasiswa teknik mesin, dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 12.14%. Hasil hipotesis ketiga diperoleh dengan nilai rx2y= 0.392 dengan p<0.001 artinya terdapat hubungan signifikan negatif antara ketakutan akan kegagalan dengan prokrastinasi akademik pada mahasiswa teknik mesin, dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 14.79%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa semua hipotesis dalam penelitian ini diterima. Kata kunci: Konformitas Teman Sebaya, Ketakutan akan Kegagalan, dan Prokrastinasi Akademik. ABSTRACT One of the problems that often occurs among final-year students is the tendency to feel bored, causing them to divert their attention to enjoyable activities instead of working on their thesis. If a student cannot manage their time, they will not complete their thesis or will tend to postpone tasks, which is commonly referred to as academic procrastination. This study aims to determine the relationship between peer conformity and fear of failure with academic procrastination among mechanical engineering students. The research population consists of mechanical engineering students at the University of Lampung, using a quantitative method. The research participants were obtained using purposive sampling technique, totaling 87 individuals. The data collection technique used three scales, namely the academic procrastination scale with 36 items (α=0.94), the peer conformity scale with 19 items (α=0.856), and the fear of failure scale with 30 items (α=0.915). The data analysis technique used multiple regression analysis with the help of JASP 0.19.1.0 for Windows software. The results of this study indicate that peer conformity and fear of failure together influence academic procrastination among mechanical engineering students, with a value of r=0.269 and p<0.001, and an effective contribution of 26.9%, while the remaining 73.1% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. The results of the second hypothesis were obtained with a value of rx1y=0.357 with p<0.001, meaning there is a significant negative relationship between peer conformity and academic procrastination among mechanical engineering students, with an effective contribution of 12.14%. The results of the third hypothesis were obtained with a value of rx2y=-0.392 with p<0.001, meaning there is a significant negative relationship between fear of failure and academic procrastination among mechanical engineering students, with an effective contribution of 14.79%. It can be concluded that all hypotheses in this study are accepted. Keywords: Peer Conformity, Fear of Failure, and Academic Procrastination.
