Abstract

ABSTRACT This research discusses about Code Mixing. The objectives of this research are to find out 1) The types of code mixing in Indonesian series “My Nerd Girl Season 2” based on Hoffman’s theory 2) The factors behind the occurence of code mixing in Indonesian series “My Nerd Girl Season 2”. The research on this thesis was carried by using descriptive qualitative. The data were taken from Vidio Application. The results of this research based on Hoffman’s theory show that were three types of code mixing such as intra- sentential of code mixing, intra- lexical of code mixing and involving a change of pronunciation. This research also found the factors behind the occurence of code mixing in Indonesian series “My Nerd Girl Season 2” based on Suwito there are five factors, speaker, hearer (speaker and partner speaking), social community or background, vocabulary and prestige. Factors desire to explain and interpret. This research was expected to provide an introduction about the code mixing for the people who read the research.
