Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini membahas mengenai pengaruh Kesultanan Banten terhadap kebudayaan masyarakat adat Megou Pak di Tulang Bawang pada abad XVI-XIX. Kesultanan Banten sebagai salah satu pusat kekuasaan dan perdagangan di Pulau Jawa yang memainkan peran signifikan dalam interaksi budaya dan sosial di wilayah Lampung. Selain itu, studi ini mengidentifikasi bagaimana kebijakan politik, ekonomi, dan agama Kesultanan Banten berdampak pada tradisi, seni, dan struktur sosial masyarakat Megou Pak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah meliputi, Heuristik (pengumpulan sumber), Kritik, Intepretasi, dan Historiografi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan pengaruh Kesultanan Banten terhadap kebudayaan dan wujudnya di masyarakat adat Megou Pak Tulang Bawang abad XVI-XIX. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh Kesultanan Banten tidak hanya terbatas pada aspek ekonomi, tetapi juga merambah ke sistem kepercayaan, praktik seni, dan tata kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat Megou Pak. Transformasi budaya yang terjadi mencerminkan dinamika adaptasi masyarakat adat dalam menghadapi pengaruh eksternal. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman lebih dalam tentang kompleksitas hubungan antara kesultanan dan masyarakat adat, serta kontribusinya terhadap identitas budaya lokal di Tulang Bawang. Kata Kunci : Kebudayaan, Megou Pak, Kesultanan Banten. iii ABSTRACT This research discusses the influence of the Banten Sultanate on the culture of the Megou Pak indigenous community in Tulang Bawang in the XVI-XIX centuries. The Sultanate of Banten, as one of the centers of power and trade in Java, played a significant role in cultural and social interactions in the Lampung region. In addition, this study identifies how the political, economic, and religious policies of the Banten Sultanate impacted the traditions, arts, and social structure of the Megou Pak community. This research uses historical methods including, Heuristics (source collection), Criticism, Interpretation, and Historiography. The purpose of this study is to explain the influence of the Sultanate of Banten on culture and its form in the indigenous people of Megou Pak Tulang Bawang in the XVI-XIX centuries. The results showed that the influence of the Banten Sultanate was not only limited to economic aspects, but also penetrated into the belief system, art practices, and daily life of the Megou Pak community. The cultural transformation that occurred reflected the dynamics of indigenous people's adaptation in the face of external influences. This research is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the complexity of the relationship between the sultanate and indigenous peoples, as well as its contribution to local cultural identity in Tulang Bawang.
