Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya memahami faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi Foreign Direct Investment di negara-negara ASEAN, khususnya dalam economic growth dan inflasi dari perspektif ekonomi Islam. Foreign Direct Investment dianggap penting karena memberikan kontribusi terhadap pembangunan ekonomi negara-negara berkembang. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh economic growth dan inflasi terhadap foreign direct investment di negara-negara ASEAN selama periode 2018-2022 dengan perspektif ekonomi Islam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan asosiatif, memanfaatkan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari Asean Statistical Yearbook 2023. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah regresi data panel dengan estimasi Random Effect Model (REM) untuk menguji hubungan antarvariabel. Penelitian ini mencakup 9 negara ASEAN dan menganalisis data foreign direct investment, economic growth, dan inflasi selama lima tahun terakhir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan ekonomi memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap FDI di negara negara ASEAN, sementara inflasi memiliki pengaruh negatif yang signifikan. Dari perspektif ekonomi Islam, FDI yang sesuai dengan prinsip syariah dapat memberikan manfaat yang lebih luas dan berkelanjutan bagi perekonomian negara. Penelitian ini juga menyarankan agar negara-negara ASEAN meningkatkan stabilitas ekonomi untuk menarik lebih banyak investasi asing. ABSTRACT This study is motivated by the importance of understanding the factors influencing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in ASEAN countries, particularly in the context of economic growth and inflation from an Islamic economic perspective. FDI is considered crucial as it contributes to the economic development of developing countries. The primary objective of this research is to analyze the impact of economic growth and inflation on FDI in ASEAN countries during the 2018 2022 period, using an Islamic economic framework. The research employs a quantitative methodology with an associative approach, utilizing secondary data obtained from economic reports of ASEAN countries. The analysis technique applied is panel data regression using the Random Effect Model (REM) to examine the relationships between variables. This study covers 9 ASEAN countries and analyzes FDI, economic growth, and inflation data over the last five years. The findings reveal that economic growth has a positive and significant impact on FDI in ASEAN countries, while inflation shows a negative and significant effect. From an Islamic economic perspective, FDI that adheres to Sharia principles can offer broader and more sustainable benefits to a country’s economy. The study also suggests that ASEAN countries should enhance economic stability to attract more foreign investment. Keywords: Economic Growth, Inflation and Investment.
