Abstract

ABSTRACK Inequality was initially caused by disparities in natural resource content and disparities in demographic conditions that existed in each region. The impact of these differences is that the ability of a region to increase economic growth and encourage the development process also becomes out of sync, as a result, in each region there are moderate regions and relatively underdeveloped regions. This research aims to determine the effect of the provincial minimum wage, inflation and local income on income disparities on the island of Java in 2018-2023. This research uses quantitative research with a descriptive approach and panel data regression analysis using E-views 12 software with the best Random Effect Model. The population in this study is all provinces on the island of Java. Meanwhile, the sample used is the amount of data obtained in this research, namely 6x6=36 data. Secondary data obtained from the official website of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance, Ministry of Finance, with a cross section covering 6 provinces on the island of Java, while the time series data starts from 2018-2023. The results of this research show that the variables Provincial Minimum Wage, Inflation and Original Regional Income jointly influence Income Disparity. Meanwhile, partially the Provincial Minimum Wage variable has a positive and significant effect on Income Disparity. The Inflation variable has a positive and insignificant effect on Income Disparity. And the Regional Original Income variable has an insignificant negative effect on Income Disparity. The research results of the coefficient of determination (R2) were 47% while the remaining 53% was influenced by other variables outside this research model. Keywords: Provincial Minimum Wage, Inflation, Original Regional Income and Income Disparity.
