Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini berjudul “Pengaruh Tata Ruang Sekolah Terhadap Minat Baca Siswa MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung.” Batasan masalah pada penelitian ini adalah fokus pada pengaruh tata ruang perpustakaan sekolah terhadap minat baca siswa MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung. Tata ruang perpustakaan MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung sudah beberapa kali mengalami perubahan. Perubahan tata ruang perpustakaan dilakukan karena seiring dengan berjalannya waktu koleksi bahan pustaka semakin bertambah. Terdapat beberapa kendala yang dihadapi dalam perubahan tata ruang perpustakaan yaitu, ruangan yang tidak terlalu luas, ruang koleksi dan ruang baca dijadikan di satu tempat, dan jarak antar rak koleksi dan meja baca terlalu dekat. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah tata ruang perpustakaan sekolah MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung sesuai dengan standar Perpustakaan Nasional dan seberapa besar pengaruh tata ruang perpustakaan sekolah terhadap minat baca siswa MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui apakah tata ruang perpustakaan sekolah MTs Negeri 2 Bandar lampung sesuai dengan standar Perpustakaan Nasional dan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh tata ruang perpustakaan sekolah terhadap minat baca MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel diambil dari populasi siswa MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung yang berjumlah 1.300 siswa. Menurut Frankel dan Wallen, sampel 100 orang atau lebih dapat mewakili populasi karena berdasarkan distribusi normal, sampel 100 orang atau diatasnya sudah layak untuk menggambarkan pupolasi, maka peneliti mengambil sampel sebanyak 100 responden dari siswa MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan regresi linier sederhana yang didasarkan pada hubungan fungsional ataupun kausal satu variabel independent dengan satu variabel dependent. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, Tata ruang Perpustakaan di MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung belum memenuhi beberapa standar yang telah ditetapkan untuk perpustakaan tingkat menengah pertama, khususnya berdasarkan Peraturan Kepala Perpustakaan Nasional Nomor 11 Tahun 2017. Seperti, belum adanya ruang referensi tersendiri, luas perpustakaan belum memenuhi Standar luas ruangan perpustakaan sekolah menengah pertama/madrasah tsanawiyah, dan jarak antara rak koleksi dan meja baca terlalu dekat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tentang pengaruh tata ruang perpustakaan sekolah terhadap iii minat baca siswa MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung yang sudah dilakukan dan peneliti yang sudah diuraikan pada bab sebelumnya, maka dapat disimpulkan ada pengaruh yang signifikan tata ruang perpustakaan sekolah terhadap minat baca siswa MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung hal tersebut ditunjukkan dari hasil uji regeresi linear sederhana nilai t hitung sebesar 4,991 dan nilai t tabel pada tabel statistik dengan signifikansi 0,05 adalah sebesar 0,1966. Karena t hitung (4,991) > t tabel (0, 1966), H0 ditolak dan maka Ha diterima yang artinya ada pengaruh antara tata ruang perpustakaan sekolah terhadap minat baca siswa MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung. Besar pengaruh tata ruang perpustakaan sekolah terhadap minat baca siswa MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung adalah 0,203 diperoleh dari dari hasil uji koefisien determinasi (R Square). Berdasarkan hasil uji tersebut dapat disimpulkan besar pengaruh tata ruang perpustakaan sekolah terhadap minat baca siswa MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung adalah 20,3%. The problem limitation in this study is focused on the impact of school library layout on reading interest of MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung students. The library layout of MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung has changed several times. Changes in the library layout were made because over time the collection of library materials has increased. There are several obstacles faced in changing the library layout, namely, the room is not too spacious, the collection room and reading room are made in one place, and the distance between the collection shelves and the reading table is too close. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether the layout of the MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung school library is in accordance with the National Library standards and how much impact the school library layout has on the reading interest of MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung students. The purpose of the study was to determine whether the layout of the MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung school library is in accordance with the National Library standards and to determine how much impact the school library layout has on the reading interest of MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung students. This study uses a quantitative approach. The sample was taken from the population of students of MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung totaling 1,300 students. According to Frankel and Wallen, a sample of 100 people or more can represent the population because based on a normal distribution, a sample of 100 people or above is sufficient to describe the population, so the researcher took a sample of 100 respondents from students of MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung. This research instrument uses simple linear regression based on the functional or causal relationship of one independent variable with one dependent variable. Based on the results of the study, the layout of the library at MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung has not met several standards that have been set for junior high school libraries, especially based on the Regulation of the Head of the National Library Number 11 of 2017. Such as, there is no separate reference room, the size of the library does not meet the standard for the size of a junior high school library/Islamic junior high school, and the distance between the collection shelves and the reading table is too close. Based on the results of the study on the effect of the layout of the school library on the reading interest of students at MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung that has been carried out v and the researchers who have been described in the previous chapter, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the layout of the school library on the reading interest of students at MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung. This is indicated by the results of the simple linear regression test, the calculated t value is 4.991 and the t table value in the statistical table with a significance of 0.05 is 0.1966. Because t count (4.991) > t table (0.1966), H0 is rejected and then Ha is accepted which means there is an influence between the layout of the school library on the reading interest of students of MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung. The magnitude of the influence of the layout of the school library on the reading interest of students of MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung is 0.203 obtained from the results of the determination coefficient test (R Square). Based on the results of the test, it can be concluded that the magnitude of the influence of the layout of the school library on the reading interest of students of MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung is 20.3%.
