Abstract

ABCTRACT This thesis discusses An Analysis of Idiomatic in Oppenheimer's Film. The subject matter is What are the forms of idioms in Oppenheimer's film and what are their meanings? This research is descriptive qualitative in which the method used in data collection is documentation. While the data source is Oppenheimer's film and script. With data analysis techniques including data presentation, data reduction, and data verification The results showed those: This study discusses the meaning, type of idiomatic and idiomatic meaning found in Oppenheimer‟s film, there are 10 types of idioms, namely, first Pure Idioms found 11 idioms, second full idioms found 5 idioms, third Partial Idioms found 10 idioms, fourth Verb idioms found 3 idioms, fifth Phrase idioms found 2 idioms. Sixth Nominal idioms found 5 idioms, seventh Adverbial idioms found 2 idioms, eighth Anthropomorphic idioms found 2 idioms, ninth Adjective Idioms found 2 idioms, and tenth Prepositional Idioms found 2 idioms. After finding the types of idioms used by the characters in Oppenheimer‟s film, the author also determines the meaning of these idioms. Keywords: Idiomatic, Oppenheimer‟s Film
