Abstract

ABSTRACT Tea Party is one of the techniques in cooperative learning. This strategy benefits students who are faster in understanding the material. Faster learners will integrate their understanding of the material when they explain what they know to their teammates. The objective of this research was to influence the students’ vocabulary mastery by using cooperative learning method type Tea Party strategy for grade XI students of SMAN 1 Seputih Banyak in academic year 2023/2024. The method of this research was quasi-experimental. The population of this research was 170 students from 5 classes. The researcher used 2 classes as the sample of research. The sample was chosen by using cluster random sampling technique. The sample of research was in IPA 1 and IPA 4 which consisted of 70 students. The instrument of this research was vocabulary multiple choice test with 20 items test for pretest and 20 items test for posttest. The data collections of this research were pretest and posttest. The researcher used SPSS version 25 to count the data of research namely normality test, homogeneity test and hypothetical test. Based on the research finding, it was found that sig. (2-tailed) of the equal variance assumed in the independent sample test table where the sig. (2-tailed) obtained 0.010. It is lower than α = 0.05 and it means that Ha was accepted. The researcher concluded that there was significant influence of Tea Party Strategy towards students’ vocabulary mastery at the eleventh grade at SMAN 1 Seputih Banyak in the Academic Year of 2023/2024.
