Abstract

ABSTRACT Pronunciation has been one of the issues that need to be solved in English teaching and learning process. In teaching and learning process, both students and teachers must use various efforts to learn and improve their pronunciation. Given the lack of use of media or application in teaching pronunciation so that there are still many teachers who prefer not to teach pronunciation to the students. The objective of the research was to find out how the Say It application influences the pronunciation mastery of English consonant and vowel at the first semester of eleventh grade students of SMAN 5 Bandar Lampung in the academic year of 2022/2023. The research was conducted at SMAN 5 Bandar Lampung involving the students of XI IPS 3 as the participants consisted of 34 students which was selected through the cluster random sampling method. In this research study, the experimental design was applied. Pre-test and post-test were conducted as the data collecting technique. From the result of the data analysis, it could be concluded that Say-It Application gave influence to the students’ pronunciation mastery. It could be seen from the result of the pre-test before the treatment was given and the result of the post-test after the treatment was given. In addition, the result of the t-test between the pre-test and the post-test also suggested that this application gave a significant difference towards the students’ pronunciation mastery before and after the treatment was given. Overall, it could finally be concluded that Say-It Application gave influence towards the students of eleventh grade of SMAN 5 Bandar Lampung. Key words: Application, Pronunciation, Say-It App
