Abstract

ABSTRACT Code switching and code mixing in Sociolinguistics enter into the phenomenon above where changes and mixing occur in a language, especially English which has become a second language that is widely used by the world community. Most Code Switching and Code Mixing are used by young people, especially in big cities. Youtube is a media or site that is easy to access and find. Isti ve Musab's Youtube channel is one of those that often use English and Indonesian in the videos on its Youtube channel. The aims of this study were to find out the types of code switching and code mixing that appears on youtube channel Isti ve Musab (Road Trip Eps.11). In this research, descriptive qualitative method was used, where the results of the research are in the form of exposure or description. The subject of the study were the utterance of Road Trip Eps. 11 of Isti ve Musab Youtube Channel. The main result of the study were the types of code switching and code mixing used by Isti and Musab. The result of this research, Isti and Musab regularly used code switching and code mixing in their utterance. The result of this research found that there are 6 data in the types of code switching and 39 data of code mixing. In the types of code switching are classified into situational is 5 data, and metaphorical code switching is 1 data. Meanwhile, in the types of code mixing consist of three types, such as insertion is 31 data, alternation is 2 data, and congruent lexicalization is 6 data.
