Abstract

ABSTRAK Salah satu komponen penting yang harus diperhatikan secara terus menerus dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan adalah tenaga pendidik, karena tenaga pendidik dalam konteks pendidikan mempunyai peranan yang besar. Tenaga pendidik berhadapan dan berinteraksi langsung dengan siswa, sehingga kunci keberhasilan pendidikan disekolah ditentukan oleh tenaga pendidik. Tenaga pendidik merupakan panutan yang mampu mengubah dan mengarahkan perilaku peserta didik ke arah yang lebih baik, selain itu tenaga pendidik bertanggung jawab dalam melahirkan generasi penerus bangsa yang berkualitas dari segi ilmu pengetahuan dan spiritualnya. Tenaga pendidik merupakan salah satu komponen penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan, maka dari itu kompetensi tenaga pendidik perlu diperhatikan karena merupakan salah satu kunci utama dalam menghasilkan guru yang berkualitas dan memberikan pembelajaran yang berkualitas pula bagi siswanya Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus. dengan mengamati peran kepala sekolah sebagai supervisor dalam meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru di SMPN 31 Bandar Lampung. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah bagian kurikulum, dan guru. Objek penelitian ini adalah peran kepala sekolah sebagai supervisor dalam meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru di SMPN 31 Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data primer di pilih langsung dari responden, sedangkan data sekunder berupa teori-teori dari buku dan jurnal serta penunjang lain yang di peroleh dari dokumentasi sekolah. Sedangkan uji keabsahan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi sumber. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat di simpulkan peran kepala sekolah sebagai supervisor dalam meningkatkan kompetensi iii profesional guru di SMPN 31 Bandar Lampung menunjukan bahwa kepala sekolah telah membantu guru memimpin kelas, membantu guru dalam merencanakan program pembelajaran, membantu guru mengelola manajeman kelas, membantu guru menguasai materi pembelajarn, membantu guru menggunakan media atau sumber belajar, membantu guru menggunakan metode yang bervariasi dalam pembelajaran dan membantu guru dalam melakukan penilaian hasil belajar siswa. Meskipun masih ada yang perlu di perbaiki lagi yaitu mengenai kemampuan guru dalam penguasaan media pembelajaran. The energy of the educator faces and interacts directly with the student, so the key to educational success in the school is determined by the educators. The power of the educator is one of the important components in improving the quality of education, therefore the competence of the pedagogue should be taken into account because it is a key to producing qualified teachers and providing quality learning for the pupils. This research is qualitative descriptive research using a case study approach. by observing the role of the head of school as a supervisor in improving the professional competence of teachers at SMPN 31 Bandar Lampung. The subject of this research is the head of school, the deputy head of the school of the curriculum, and the teacher. The object of this study is the role of the head as a supervisor in improving the professional competence of teachers in SMPN 31 Bandar Lampung. This research uses data collection techniques in the form of observations, interviews and documentation. Primary data was selected directly from respondents, while secondary data were theories from books and journals and other supports obtained from school documentation. The validity of the data is tested with triangulation of the source. Data analysis in this study uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion withdrawal. Based on the results of the research, the role of the head of the school as a supervisor in improving the professional competence of teachers in SMPN 31 Bandar Lampung showed that the head has helped teachers lead the class, help teachers to plan the learning program, help the teacher to manage the management of the classroom, help a teacher to master the material of the student, help teacher to use the media or learning resources, help to teachers use different methods in learning and help teaching in conducting the v evaluation of student learning outcomes. Although there is still something that needs to be improved about the teacher's ability to master the learning media .
