Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode suku kata terhadap keterampilan membaca permulaan peserta didik kelas I di SDN 02 Gunung Sakti, Menggala Selatan. Penelitian ini mengamati tentang bagaimana pengaruh metode suku kata terhadap keterampilan membaca permulaan peserta didik kelas I Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif, jenis penelitian Quasi Eksperimen dengan Posttes Only Control Design, dengan menggunakan dua kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Teknik sampling yang digunakan ialah teknik cluster sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dalam bentuk tes membaca permulaan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa metode suku kata berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan membaca permulaan peserta didik kelas I di SDN Gunung Sakti, Menggala Selatan dapat dilihat dari nilai rata-rata di kelas eksperimen lebih besar dibanding kelas kontrol. Nilai rata-rata pada kelas eksperimen mencapai 87, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol mencapai 66. Uji hipotesis yang dilakukan di kelas eksperimen dan kontrol didapati nilai sig. (2-tailed) 0,000, yang mana nilai ini lebih kecil dari 0,05. (0,000<0,05), untuk itu maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima yaitu adanya pengaruh metode suku kata terhadap keterampilan membaca permulaan kelas I SDN Gunung Sakti, Menggala Selatan. Kata Kunci: Metode Suku Kata, Membaca Permulaan. iii ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the effect of the syllable method on the beginning reading skills of class I students at SDN 02 Gunung Sakti, Menggala Selatan. This research looks at the influence of the syllabic method on the initial reading skills of grade I elementary school students. This research uses quantitative research methods, Quasi Experimental research type with Posttest Only Control Design, using two classes as an experimental class and a control class. The sampling technique used is the cluster sampling technique. The data collection technique used in this research is in the form of a preliminary reading test. The results of this research show that the syllable method has an effect on the initial reading skills of class I students at SDN Gunung Sakti, Menggala Selatan. It can be seen from the average score in the experimental class which is greater than the control class. The average value in the experimental class reached 87, while in the control class it reached 66. Hypothesis testing carried out in the experimental and control classes found sig. (2-tailed) 0.000, which is a value smaller than 0.05. (0.000 <0.05), for this reason Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, namely the influence of the syllable method on the initial reading skills of class I at SDN Gunung Sakti, South Menggala.
