Abstract

ABSTRAK Pemahaman konsep sangat penting dalam proses pembelajaran, karena pemahaman konsep akan memudahkan siswa mempelajari materi yang diberikan. berdasarkan hasil pra penelitian yang dilakukan di SMP Negeri 35 Bandar Lampung diperoleh hasil bahwa rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep peserta didik, hal tersebut disebabkan karena kurangnya minat peserta didik dalam memahami pembelajaran dan pasifnya peserta didik dalam pembelajaran sehingga kemampuan pemahaman konsep peserta didik masih tergolong rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Brain Based Learning terhadap pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada materi sistem pernapasan. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Quasi Experiment dengan desain penelitian Pretest-Posttest control group. Populasi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu seluruh peserta didik kelas VIII IPA SMP Negeri 35 Bandar Lampung. Teknik sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Cluster Random Sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal essay. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan test yang telah diuji validitas, reliabilitas, daya pembeda, tingkat kesukaran, kemudian test dikumpulkan dan akan dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik dengan menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan uji Independent Sample Test. Berdasarkan hasil data analisis yang diperoleh hasil hipotesis H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima, hasil uji diperoleh nilai signifikan sebesar 0,001 < 0,05 pada tes pemahaman konsep. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model Brain Based Learning terhadap pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada mata Pelajaran IPA kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 35 Bandar Lampung. Kata Kunci: Brain Based Learning, Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep iii ABSTRACT Understanding concepts is very important in the learning process, because understanding concepts will make it easier for students to learn the material provided. Based on the results of pre-research conducted at SMP Negeri 35 Bandar Lampung, the results showed that students' concept understanding abilities were low, this was due to students' lack of interest in understanding learning and students' passiveness in learning so that students' conceptual understanding abilities were still relatively low. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the Brain B1 q ased Learning learning model on students' understanding of concepts in the respiratory system material. The method used is Quasy Experiment with a Pretest-Posttest control group research design. The population used in this research was all students in class VIII Science at SMP Negeri 35 Bandar Lampung. The sampling technique used in this research is Cluster Random Sampling. The research instrument is in the form of essay questions. The data collection technique uses tests that have been tested for validity, reliability, distinguishing power, level of difficulty, then the tests are collected and will be analyzed using statistical analysis using normality, homogeneity and Independent Sample tests. Based on the results of the data analysis obtained, the hypothesis H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, the test results obtained a significant value of 0.001 <0.05 in the concept understanding test. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Brain Based Learning model on students' understanding of concepts in class VIII science subjects at SMP Negeri 35 Bandar Lampung.
