Abstract

ABSTRAK Manajemen strategi yang merupakan kebijakan dan tindakan yang dibuat oleh pimpinan dan digunakan oleh organisasi dalam memformulasikan dan mengimplementasikan strategi-strategi untuk mencapai tujuan organisasi. Manajemen strategi sangat diperlukan dalam upaya mewujudkan kemandirian ekonomi pondok pesantren. Banyak penelitian terdahulu yang mengkaji manajemen strategi dan kemandirian pondok pesantren, tetapi masih sedikit penelitian yang mengkaji mengenai konsep manajemen strategi dengan menggunakan analisis SWOT untuk mencapai kemandirian ekonomi pesantren. Pondok Pesantren Istiqomah Al Amin merupakan salah satu pondok pesantren yang telah menerapkan manajemen strategi dalam upaya memandirikan pondok dari sisi ekonomi, namun sejauh ini, masih belum mencapai kemandirian ekonomi yang diharapkan. Hal ini menjadi menarik bagi peneliti untuk mengeksplorasi manajemen strategi pondok ini dalam mencapai kemandirian ekonomi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Data primer diperoleh langsung dari narasumber yakni pengurus dan santri. Untuk menganalisa data, peneliti menggunakan teknik analisis SWOT. Artinya proses perumusan dan implementasi strategi akan dibahas dari perspektif SWOT. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Pondok Pesantren Istiqomah Al Amin telah melakukan perumusan strategi dengan menggunakan analisis SWOT sehingga menghasilkan strategi-strategi yaitu strategi agresif, strategi turn-around, strategi diversifikasi, dan strategi difensif. Perumusan strategi sudah dilakukan dengan baik, namun masih perlu memaksimalkan perumusan strategi lebih rinci, mendalam dan terarah. Sedangkan implementasi strategi yang dilakukan pondok pesantren Istiqomah Al Amin ada yang berjalan dengan baik tetapi masih banyak juga yang belum diimplementasikan secara optimal karena adanya faktor-faktor penghambat serta masih banyak yang perlu ditingkatkan dalam implementasi strategi agar dapat mencapai tujuan kemandirian ekonomi. Seluruh strategi yang diimplementasikan mendapatkan penilaian sesuai teori diantaranya success, trouble, roulette, dan failure. Berdasarkan implementasi strategi yang telah diterapkan dan jika disesuaikan dengan teori indikator kemandirian ekonomi, tingkat kemandirian ekonomi pondok pesantren Istiqomah Al Amin Lampung Selatan mencapai tingkat cukup yang berarti pesantren memiliki unit usaha tetapi masih memerlukan bantuan dari pihak luar. Selain itu, strategi yang digunakan Pondok Pesantren Istiqomah Al Amin yaitu strategi difensif untuk meningkatkan kemandirian ekonomi pesantren. ABSTRACT Strategic management is a policy and action made by the leadership and used by the organization in formulating and implementing strategies to achieve organizational goals. Strategic management is needed in an effort to realize the economic independence of Islamic boarding schools. Many previous studies have examined strategic management and the independence of Islamic boarding schools, but there are still few studies that examine the concept of strategic management using SWOT analysis to achieve the economic independence of Islamic boarding schools. Istiqomah Al Amin Islamic Boarding School is one of the Islamic boarding schools that has implemented strategic management in an effort to establish the economic independence of the boarding school, but so far, it has not yet achieved the expected economic independence. This is of interest to researchers to explore the strategic management of this boarding school in achieving economic independence. This research uses a qualitative approach with interviews, observation and documentation as data collection tools. Primary data is obtained directly from sources, namely administrators and students. To analyze the data, researchers used SWOT analysis techniques. This means that the process of strategy formulation and implementation will be discussed from a SWOT perspective. The results of this study indicate that the Istiqomah Al Amin Islamic Boarding School has carried out strategy formulation using SWOT analysis to produce strategies, namely aggressive strategies (using strengths and taking advantage of opportunities), turn-around strategies (taking advantage of opportunities to minimize weaknesses), diversification strategies (using strengths to overcome threats), and defensive strategies (minimizing weaknesses and overcoming threats). Strategy formulation has been done well, but it is still necessary to maximize strategy formulation in more detail, depth and direction. While the implementation of the strategy carried out by Istiqomah Al Amin Islamic boarding school is going well but there are still many that have not been implemented optimally due to inhibiting factors and there is still much that needs to be improved in the implementation of strategies in order to achieve the goal of economic independence. All strategies implemented get an assessment according to the theory including success, trouble, roulette, and failure. Based on the implementation of the strategies that have been implemented and if adjusted to the theory of economic independence indicators, the level of economic independence of Istiqomah Al Amin Islamic boarding school in South Lampung reaches a sufficient level, which means that the pesantren has a business unit but still needs assistance from outside parties. In addition, the strategy used by Pondok Pesantren Istiqomah Al Amin is an diffensive strategy to increase the economic independence of pesantren.
